I grew up in Durban in the 80s and 90s. Beautiful place. It doesn’t get enough love as most travel shows focus on either Cape Town or Jo’Burg. I have such great memories of my time there. Sadly, it’s changed a lot and many of my friends there have moved on to other places.

I'm a Durbanite currently studying abroad and might I say you did astounding work capturing my home city. It's so easily overlooked and underestimated worldwide despite it being the 3rd biggest city of the country, whenever I say I'm from South Africa to people outside the country the first city that comes to mind is Johannesburg and a lot of people from there think Durban is a much better place to live in. I am utterly delighted to see it restored to its former glory 🥰🤩😍 It became a real dump for many years. My grandfather bought his retirement flat two blocks up from the promenade. Still not sure if the properties in that area are actually investment-worthy due to the noise, extreme movement of busy people, cars and taxis. But really delighted to see it restored and security in place... finally.
