Okay, I feel the need to clarify this, because the Anime does a BAD job at showing it. Kazuma did not 'mess up' with Darkness when she propositioned him. He knew exactly what he was doing, because he didn't want to take advantage of her. So he intentionally said something to ruin the mood instead. But the anime didn't show his thought process, so we don't know any of that unless you've read the LN like I have. And it's almost definitely all for the comedy.

Easily my favorite episode of the season. I love Dust. His scene and the shredded abs moment all in one episode? Love it. His spinoff book is so good too. Would love for him to have a spinoff anime too… but it could never be.

Darkness offering herself to Kazuma is in fact the saddest moment in all of Konosuba (so far). For despite being a pervert she really values her chastity. So when she offers to give it away she reveals her total desperation since that is a one-time thing that cannot be undone. Crazy enough that in this episode Aqua for the first time has a good idea on her own by granting Kazuma the "versatile entertainer" skill.

Tbf, I wouldn't chalk it up to Aqua having a good idea but rather to her doing something foolish that by chance turned out to be useful in ways she definitely didn't see coming 😂

Despite Darkness' unwillingness to admit it, I'd argue that Kazuma is genuinely her type. 1. he's full of flaws but generally not a bad person 2. he fulfills her masochistic fantasies whether on purpose or not 3. he's a young man around her age Point number 2 is where most men around her age fail, and point number 1 & 3 is where most ugly bastard nobles fail.

This episode is just another reason why this season was so much more unhinged than the prior two! There are definitely questionable episodes in S1, and S2 was pretty tame (except the frogs and Darkness planned marriage)

its kind of of a spoilers but not really , in the light novel when darkness offers her self to kazuma , he knows she's very vulnerable in that moment so him being a true gentleman said that she really does have shredded abs to ruin the moment on purpose , kazuma really does care full heartedly for the ladies in he's party

@@pollomaniac this would have been a good time to use the kazuma debating hims of what to do by him mentally walking around like he did when megumin held his hand while going to the springs, or when he was locked in the bedroom with her by her mother. It would have helped lead people to the right conclusion; but the show does such a great job of showing these are actual kids that one could be led to believe he just screwed up his shot, and that's more funny, and the show leans heavy into the funny.

@tric5122 yes of course for comedic terms this is better , but in the book Kazuma has a monologue with him self saying that he understands that darkness is very vulnerable and that he's not gonna take advantage of her , the moment is more Seriouse

Specifically, I’ve been liking Kazuma and Aqua’s relationship lately. About since the movie, they’re not fighting as often, and we often see her just take care of him whenever things don’t go his way. I don’t mean romantically, though, because, in this episode, it’s like he came running to mommy to kiss his boo-boo until it was better 😂 It’s been really sweet and cute how they’ve been getting along

Aldarp's end goal is to marry Darkness. He had the body-switching treasure and was planning to use the kill-the-other-person-to-permanently-switch trick Chris mentioned. First with his son which is why he set them up to get married last season. Second with Iris's brother Janice, which is why he was shipping the two. He even when the extra mile by gifting the treasure to him, which wound up in Iris's hands. Now that that's no longer attainable, he's forcing Darkness to be his bride via a debt.
