Loved this clip and couldn’t agree more with the information discussed here. I lost over 200 pounds and have maintained the weight loss for 10 years now and I drank diet soda the entire time. My glucose levels, cholesterol levels, blood pressure all drastically improved. A majority of my weight loss was through caloric restriction - 1500 calories a day and I ate mostly protein because it was the most satiating and threw in spinach and broccoli a lot. I cut out sodium for the most part because I had high BP and it also runs in my family. Those aren’t things that work for everyone but it’s worked for me. You learn a lot about your body when you try to lose weight as far as foods your body can and can’t handle/digest well. Big example for me is my body loves oatmeal but hates rice. People just have to find what works for them and is sustainable. Great video!

The thing I want to know about Red Meat is that is it Red Meat in general that's bad for you (in large quantities), or is it just Factory Farmed Meat, as opposed to Grass-fed Meat? What about animal organs, like Beef Liver? What about Red Meat from certain animals? Is Bison or Venison better for you than Beef or Pork?
@alexanderyekhanin8830 Жыл бұрын
Beef, Venison, Bison, and other all ruminant animals are much better than pork/chicken/turkey. You can find ruminant animal meat that eats an ancestrally consistent diet of grass, whereas pigs nowadays are fed corn, soy, and seed oils because it's ridiculously expensive to feed them their natural diet of bugs, eggs, and small animals. This makes the pigs sick and full of seed oils they can't get rid of because their digestive system isn't as strong as one of a ruminant animal. Ruminant meat and organs (liver, heart, etc) are the healthiest and the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. And those nutrients are extremely bioavailable, with no vegetable antinutrients to prevent absorption. EAT MORE RED MEAT! ;)

Clean, grass-fed beef is VERY healthy for you. The stuff that's poison is the factory, corn fed beef.
@ExerciseHelps Жыл бұрын
Nothing about red meat has every been found to, in any way shape or form be bad for you. Ultimately what the studies have found is that its the processed meat that is the bad stuff. Meaning that "pink goo" and the other fillers and coloring agents that have been added to meat by big corporations are what ever caused red meat to be villafied. Its like injecting an apple with plaster and then when someone gets sick from it you say, well its very obvious that apples are bad for you!
@Viktoryia3 Жыл бұрын
Very interesting but id also like to hear about studies involving women with hormonal imbalances. I feel like those are not as highly talked about, sometimes a calorie deficit isn't enough if your body is inflamed from other reasons. It's crazy how different things work for different people(different bodies) there's so much we don't know! and frustrating since what works for one person might not have the same effect on another

One thing that a lot of people/experts are completely overlooking... nobody is performing proper and regular/consistent testing to find, disclose and elimate ALL the industrial toxins that are making their way into the modern food supply, especially re cattle/red meat. On a related side note, the fact that our ancient ancestors thrived on a wide variety of (unadulterated/non-toxic) animal meats, for 100s/1000s of centuries, is about all the proof one needs regarding the roll animal meats played in the survival of humans and wild animal species. If eating (unadulterated/non-toxic) meat is as bad as some alarmists claim, humans (including wild carnivores & omnivores) would have all gone extinct a long, long time ago.

I don't typically buy into the CICO for weight loss. I had an incident 1 summer where I was consuming 1200 calories daily where it was mainly chicken breasts and lots of salads with fatty dressing. I gained 20lbs and was absolutely freezing in the summer. That same year in the winter time when I was on holidays, I started paying attention to my internal temperature. Typically it's 36.6, so I made a point to do whatever I needed to do to raise it to 36.9 to 37.1. I was standing outside in below 0 on my balcony in just shorts and drank some coke, that was one method to raise temperature. I was also eating anywhere between 5000-5500 calories daily in mainly meat and vegetables with some starchy carbs. It was what I call very lazy keto. I ended up losing 15lbs eating up to 5500 calories a day, yet gaining weight eating 1200 calories a day in the same year.

@toadman5184 Жыл бұрын
@@Advisory_Vessel Agriculture is no older than 12,000 years. Most of the plants we eat today are no older than 4,000 years. The current carbohydrates we consume were mostly bioengineered over the past 100 years. As a species, we evolved consuming animals, not plants. And 12,000 years is nothing in terms of biological evolution.
@Advisory_Vessel Жыл бұрын
@toadman5184 So one have to participate in agriculture in order to eat plants? Because the foods we have today are bioengineering means that people couldn't consume the previous iteration of said food? Understand that what we think of our ancestors when I comes to what they know and what they did is not typically what you read in books. I say this because every 2 to 5 years, something is found that discredits what was previously known which means generally, they don't know what they are talking about. I'm here to tell you that we started off eating plants first and transitioned into eating animals later in our collective life.

I find it curious they didn't mention the blue zones at all. The people in the world who live the longest have very minimal meat in their diet. Yes they exercise. Yes they maintain good social connections. Those things help with longevity. But they ALL reduce meat intake, mostly eat whole plants and sometimes have a little fish. There's a reason the blue zone people all have this in common. We're talking about longevity here, not how good you feel in the moment.
@Laura-je2uw Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%. Not all blue zones are mainly vegan/vegetarian, but all of them have very low animal protein intake (meat, butter, cheese etc). Most of the calories come from fruit and vegetables, carbs (pasta, starchy veg, rice, bread) , nuts legumes. Very low saturated fat. This is is complete opposition to the high animal protein diets that are trending now. There is no proof (neither scientific, nor actual centenarian populations) that these diets are beneficial in any way - on the contrary! But as long as people hear that their bad eating habits (lots of meat, bacon, eggs butter) might be good, they don't think any further. Therw are so many people following keto and carnivore diets that have really harmed their health. The best diet for overall health (strongly backed up by science) is the mediterranean diet.

i used to love Stan's rants, but it seems to me he's gone soft here. No need to realtivize the issue - red meat, or any other meat, is NOT detrimental to health in any way. If you are eating meat with a bunch of junk food and ruin your health, it's still not the meat that is bad for your health. The Stan i know from his early rant-days - wouldn't have danced around it, and would've put it very, very, bluntly.

I'm not gonna take health and longevity advice from a steroid user who looks like every heart attack victim ever.

I strongly recommend anyone interested in this subject read Eat Right for Your Type by Dr. Peter D'Adamo. His work on ABO blood types and physiology answers this questiom, and it's surprising the world (especially nutrition & athletics) is still largely in the dark 30 years later.

Why not get a vegan youtuber on here like Earthling Ed or Plant Chompers. I think it'd be more interesting for you and viewers to see different perspectives than what you're used to.

That stretched red skin look is a side effect of steroids. It's actually called red skin syndrome or RSS.

He missed an option: keep your heart rate at 135 or higher for at least 90 minutes and strength or core workouts for 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. You do that and you can eat anything.

I'll remain vegan thank you very much. The credible science points to it and so does doing right by living beings.

I haven't eaten meat in ten years, would gladly go toe to toe in competition with any of these carnivores

@blesstalks Bro, athletes can maintain performance on both an omnivorous diet and diets that are predominately plant-based. What can you get from meat that can't get from plants?
@@pergamX Synthetic taurine, humans produce their own carnitine and can be found in whole grain bread and asparagus. Beta-Alanine produces Carnosine from soya beans. Creatine supplements are produced from plants. Provitamin A carotenoids are fine, you don't need preformed vitamin A. Livestock is supplemented with synthetic vitamin b12 and so, either way it's fortified in tons of plantbased food. Anserine hydrolyses within the body, and Β-Alanine which derives from. Vegans make hydroxyproline the from proline, which is derived from iron, leafy green vegetables and soya. I think it is just as if not more likely that carnivores need to supplement just as vegans do.

@@dempsey2025 There are many many things you can't get in plants that are in meat. Most athletes that go vegan/vegetarian end up getting weaker.

@@imageword5576 you have been misinformed. there is no science to back your claim. please provide a list of "things" found in meat that cannot be derived from plants or microrganisms.
