"if a man aint got a good name, he aint got nothing" is the first time I realise what people mean when speaking about male toxicity. life is more than what people think about you

39, attorney, no kids, no wife, vasectomy. Never wanted kids, love my life. Not everyone needs to have kids. As for your kids supporting me in my old age...? Yeah, so? As a single person I get taxed harder than any of you. I pay for a ton of taxes that none of my offspring consume, but yours do. The retirement system has always been a ponzi scheme for every generation. I expect there to be a degree of means testing. But I also love my job and will gladly work into my 70s.

I think Peterson underestimates the number of potential "Musks" in the world, because I'm pretty sure there are many, many people who either don't pursue their opportunities like that, or who just don't have any real opportunities to get an education, to get access to education and so on. There's some luck involved as well...

(This reminds me of GOGGINS said "You start from crawl to walk to run & eventually ahead of everyone else.") " Life is so beautiful, but only for those who risk to figure it out." *For those who didn't understand the "peak-condition" phrase : He was experiencing a profound shift in his life(just like Goggins). Its called SELF - ACTUALISATION.

@1:02:08 I will say, as a new convert I’m familiarizing myself with the Bible. And in 1 Corinthians 7:17-23 it explicitly says: “Only, let every one lead the life which the Lord has assigned to him. This is my rule in all the Churches. Was any one at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision. For neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the commandments of God. Every one should remain in the state in which he was called. Were you a slave when called? Never mind. But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity. For he who was called in the Lord as a slave is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a slave of Christ. You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.” This makes it pretty clear, at least to me, that even the earliest Christian teachings were denouncing slavery. The quotes Alex refers to were in the Old Testament(covenant), which Jesus came to fulfill and elevate with the New Testament(covenant). Now there may be other references that condone slavery in the New Testament, but given this was a letter from St Paul to the Church of Corinth on how to live a good Christian life, I think it’s pretty authoritative.

Simply too expensive to raise a child… also, generally show that people with higher levels of education tend to have fewer children…career focus and concerns about financial stability since they know the cost of raising children 🤔

Interesting…. But you are coming at this from only one point of view That this decline is a bad thing The earth had one billion people in 1800 And this was only possible when there was an industry of mining bird guano…. For the essential nutrients for plants….NPK The population would have stayed here or reduced…… But then chemical NPK was invented With this then we are now At 9 billion We are artificially able to have this many people on the planet The revolution led to massive global pollution Women’s subjugation has caused extreme suffering….. So?….. Let it play out as a decrease in population….. Yes problems come with this but in the long run…….hundreds of years…. Humanity will adjust The planet will heal with less people… And getting away from GDP how much we consume as a basis for happiness

As an American with Ecuadorian parents, i can see how people see americans but through a south american lens. I have spent a lot of time in ecuador, school years are flipped and my grandmother was a principal so i was sent to school there basically every summer until i was 14. Have gone back regularly since then and i am 31 now. One thing i notice is just how little class matters in the united states, whereas in ecuador it is everything. Obviously there is a class divide in the states, but it is easier and even expected to breakthrough. Like i dont see myself as middle class or poor or rich, i just see myself as an american, just someone trying their hardest to make it in an individualistic society. But when i go to ecuador, it is clear that me being American puts me on a higher pedestal, i am allowed in circles in ecuador that i wouldnt be in the states, if that makes sense. My family is well off in Ecuador but would be lower middle class in the states and i see them and their friends really try to prove that they are above the average ecuadorian person. Which i have always found diifuclt to understand. As an american i dont think we are raised to believe we are better or different than anyone else. I think we are taught that we can be the best no matter who you are or what you come from. Another interesting thing ive noticed is that in the states i often feel like im. Ot doing enough, that i can always be trying harder. Whereas in ecuador and other countries i have been to in europe, i am seen as a go getter and super exuberant to work. I have worked with multiple foreign clients and have been told plenty of times that they cant believe i went the extra mile for them, delivered the work so fast and well-done, etc

Everybody with half a brain wanted to go UP the ladder with Epsteins case...we knew he was nothing but the poster boy....but real power protects real power...Anyone who really knows anything , would find themselves in a little box Epstein, as soon as they opened thier mouth. What's to bad is Epstein wasn't smart enough to hide all the dirt he had so that it would come out in case of a untimly death.

I work two jobs 7 days a week and still can’t afford to be sick for one day, that one day is 100 plus dollars outta my check and everything has gone up in price its like life is a series of bubbles, each bubble has a price cap, one you start making enough money to pass that price cap you go into another bubble, but this bubble you gotta work even harder, the money might go up a lil bit but not enough to raise up off the gas

Boys and fathers. Didn't they (Who are they? Pilanesberg Natl Park in South Africa) do an experiment with introducing adult bull elephants into an area with adolescent male elephants running amok? The adolescent males settled down and stopped being so destructive once they had that stabilizing influence.
