As someone who was born and raised in Edmonton I think it's a beautiful city with many green spaces and a wonderful city to raise a family and a sense of goodwill and community however the negatives can be the cold weather obviously the city is a bit racist compared to other cities I find and people's attitudes can be a bit miserable or arrogant or rude at times but necessarily that is not a bad thing.. people are just more direct..unfortunately there exists a lot of racism particularly towards natives and non-natives and that is a shame.. there's a lot of violent crime nowadays in Edmonton and at night you should take particular care in downtown and in other areas the city run down and does have a very sketchy vibe and is a sketchy city..that said the positive outweigh the negatives and all cities have good and bad. With some street sense like any city I'm sure anyone would enjoy their time here and don't believe this stereotypes come here live here and come to the conclusions yourself..

Thanks for the watch! Yes unfortunately Canada has a long history of racism towards the Indigenous population and Edmonton is not immune to that. Hopefully with continued awareness and change we can fight that and stop that attitude and behaviours! Definitely there is crime in Edmonton, like other cities, but it is one of the safer large cities in Canada! We do love Edmonton even with the cons!

People aren’t that friendly in Kelowna and I’m sure the racism is directed more towards people’s behaviour like drug use than the colour of someone’s skin.

Hi. What are good affordable areas/ neighbourhoods near university of alberta
@liveinedmonton4 жыл бұрын
Depends on what "affordable" means, there's alot of great communities there. Malmo Plains is nearby and not as expensive then Windsor Park and Strathearn. But it's not cheap by any means. If you go to Greenfield its more affordable and lower priced are also Pleasantview. Again this also depends on the house and budget. Happy if you want to email me at melody@relife.ca to continue our conversation!
