Top clubs defend city in a way that makes pep use haaland as little as possible. It’s really up to pep. If haaland was in any other team they wouldn’t park the bus vs him and he’d score easily as he has before vs Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern and PSG and if it weren’t for insane saves from courtouis he would’ve scored vs Real Madrid too last season. People give way too much credit to rudiger when it’s really just Madrid or other teams defending with 10 at the back that makes it difficult to score not just a single defender marking him

To be honest, I think he is "a flop" in most of the matches lately. He just misses a lot of opportunities that simply can't be missed. But there is one thing about big games that you can't control for sure, either you have it or not. I am brazilian and I would mention Ronaldinho here. He was amazing, a magician, but he never appeared in the decisive matches and very few people bring it to the table when talking about him. Messi was like that for a period in Barcelona, when all of the leaders of the squad left - he felt the pressure and was null in some important games (Roma, Liverpool, Bayern). He changed my mind about this in the last World Cup, when he showed up both as a leader and a player in the toughest moments. But more specifically about Haaland, I see a lot of other Manchester City players in that list of "flop". Even Guardiola... being the manager that he is and "only" winning three Champions League trophies in 15 years is kinda shocking. De Bruyne went out injured in the two european finals that he played. Against Real Madrid, he didn't play in the first match because of his stomach. For me that is a huge signal of "feeling the pressure". But, being fair to all of these great players, having the perk of being decisive in the right moments is for not too many of them. So it is certainly not a shame to not have it.
