Such good advice on diversifying. What I’ve been doing is taking a percentage of my profits every month and investing it. I’ve be using my profits to fund my Roth IRA and even set up a saving account to save up and purchase real estate… Glad you got your shop back

Hi Karla! I'm so sorry this happened to you as well! Did Etsy ever get back to you? You are smart for opening a Shopify store. I have plans to do that in the near future as well. Let me know how it is going for you! I wish you the best!

Dude.. I dived into Etsy POD and invested 1k into it buying courses and mock ups. I watched people like yourself and other channels and I had 75 listings up in a month. They suspended my account twice within that time with no proper reason and the last time they did it they said they would reopen it and that it was just “suspicious activities”. I checked again and my shop got deleted LOL. It was just gone. I’m so glad this happened to me one month in. Imagine someone doing it full time and then get their shop closed. I think people should still try it but always have other income streams! Etsy is not trust worthy and they have horrible customer service.

Hey Ryan! I'm so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I hear stories of this often. I agree with what you said; it's always a good idea to build other income streams and not rely completely on one thing. If you are lucky and can keep your shop, Etsy is a great marketplace to sell on with so much opportunity, but there's always that risk. I'm sorry again that this happened to you! Thanks for sharing your story!

Oh my goodness! This happened to me last month. I changed my password and forgot to save it so I had to change it again. This triggered etsy to suspend my account for fraud. So a bunch of emails and 7 days later I was back open! Then as fate would have it printify was going through a huge glitch. I could not add, change or anything for 7 days! It was such a hard time adding things manually into etsy and then making manual orders to printify. Every one definitely needs to take this warning!

Hi Gloria! That is so crazy and I'm so sorry that happened to you! I'm glad you were able to get your shop back and it sounds like things have been great for you now according to our last conversation. I'm sure 7 days felt like forever! Hopefully enough videos like this will help Etsy make changes. I wish you the best! Thanks for watching and for sharing your story!

That shows total arrogance on the part of Etsy. They seriously could care less about sellers by your story and many others. People put tons of work into building their stores and to have it suddenly suspended for no justifiable reason is unacceptable. The executives should have more respect for the sellers after all where would they be without them. It's disgusting actually.

It’s definitely a problem. I understand that marketplace security is very important, but it’s crazy to feel like you can have your business taken away from you at any moment. Etsy has done a lot for me and I’m super grateful that I was able to get my shops back, but it’s been a good lesson for me to start diversifying. Best of luck to you, Patrick! Thanks for the comment!

@@brenondopp Another such nightmare can be mothership Google deciding to close access to an email account. Ironically, it was during the process of a "security checkup" I was doing at the same time I was initiating all of my accounts onto a new computer. Safari's "strong password" process glitched and didn't save the password (discovered this is a thing that can happen), so in my attempts to re-initiate a new password on a new device not having any history of logging in, its algorithms apparently determined a security risk. Then the 2 step verification was sending me into an endless loop. 6 weeks later after repeated emails hitting brick wall repetitive responses, I finally got an email through my secondary registered email with a password reset message. Although this wasn't a primary business account, it has made me wary of depending on Google for a single business email account.

Star seller tanking all because of an error on their part…That is beyond unfair omg, I’m planning on opening a shop soon but I heard etsy suspends like 90% of new accounts, do you know why that is??
@brenondopp2 жыл бұрын
It’s frustrating for sure 🤦🏻♂️ Etsy is notorious for suspending new shops to verify they’re real sellers, which is super annoying, but you’ll be able to get your account back by contacting them through their Help Center if it happens to you. Not sure why it’s still such a big issue on Etsy’s end, but don’t let it keep you from opening a shop! Best of luck!

I open two shops on etsy and got them both 2 times within a month for absolutely no reasons. Customer support is surely one of the worse I have experienced. In the end after an average of 6-8 days got back on line in both cases. Explanation? Apologies, it was an error 🤭

etsy platform is getting annoying. I recently heard a lot of etsy stores getting suspended without any reason and it sucks because I know a lot of them are woking at home moms. and yes I agree with you brenon! Shopify if you got budget or bigcartel if low budget. ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR FILES GUYS! Just thinking about losing my account makes me wanna cry.

I'm very sorry! I totally understand your frustration. Shopify is a great platform to sell on; however, you have to generate all of your own traffic which can make it difficult when first starting out. Whatever you do, I definitely recommend diversifying and not putting all of your eggs in one basket! I hope this helps!

Makes you wonder are these robots just randomly deactivating people’s shops or actual Etsy employees who don’t have anything better to do than to close people’s shops like they don’t need their money? 🤷🏽♀️ I just notice they don’t even have a phone number to call for such a large marketplace and that is so ghetto to me 😂
@brenondopp2 жыл бұрын
Etsy is notorious for suspending brand new accounts to make sure they’re real sellers and I’m pretty sure they’re bots 🤦🏻♂️ They have a live chat, email form, and call-back option in their Help Center now, but I still think their customer support needs improvement. Hopefully they can get it sorted out soon!

So sorry to hear this! I understand the frustration. If you are no longer able to sell on Etsy, I recommend applying to sell on Merch by Amazon or opening your own Shopify store. If your shop was open for 2 years, you must have a lot of designs that you can use on those platforms! Best of luck!

I’m so sorry to hear that! It’s so weird how they decide when to flag things. I travel a lot and never had any problems with location at all, but they flagged me when I updated my card info. I bugged them about it every day and was able to get mine back within a week. They take security very seriously, so you should be able to verify you’re authorized to access your account and should get it back with no problems. Have you contacted them through their Help Center? They have an email form there that you can fill out to explain your situation and get you in contact with a customer service rep. I hope you get yours back soon!
