I'm scaling to the moon😏 Today I made my biggest sale to date!! 🎉 I almost couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the notification. It was 22 tote bags in one order on an item I listed months ago (and havent sold one of until today). I was giddy all day. Just an FYI, this has NOT been the norm for me at all. My store is about 7 months old and I make maaaybe a couple sales a week. So definitely not where I want to be and this big sale is def a one off for now but hoping things pick up as the year goes on. Just want to give some hope to anyone struggling because my shop has been a struggle from the start! But you just never know who is going to come acress your listing. If it meets the right eyes, anything is possible!😊

May I ask how many items you have in yuour shop? Also, are you already doing what she is recommending to get the sales? I'm just wondering if this is all worth my time. I am trying to learn as much as possible prior to opening up my store. I don't want to spend too much time and or money on something that in the end won't work out.

@@Halfpynt71 I have around 140 items in my shop currently. Had more but a bunch expired that I didn't renew because they were earlier suckier designs that weren't worth renewing. I find designing/listing in volume very difficult as I have ADHD and a full time job lol plus the more designs I put out I find the quality is just not there but I do want to list more. Basically I try to follow everything the POD influencers are saying. Researching for low competition high search niches and using SEO strategies. Listing consistently. Following design trends. I used ads but found I was spending more than I was making in January or breaking even so I turned them off and I still get sales. What *I* found to be helpful for me and this is not what the POD influencers promote - is designing for LOW search and LOW competition. Sounds counter intuitive but if you are really struggling to make a sale, your "high search low competition" items might be getting lost in the "low competition" niches that have sometimes 5000-20,000 other items for competition. I have made quite a few sales listing in niches with only a couple hundred competition. Yes a lot less people are searching but to the people who ARE searching your item is way way way more likely to be on the first page and make a sale. Hope this helps!

@@BolivonStudios Thanks for reminding me of my comment. I got my 142nd sale. Although it's not very satisfying for a digital store, I'm proud of what I did. I'm becoming a Star Seller in September. I hope this will affect my sales better. Actually, I haven't been able to add any products for the last two weeks because my computer broke. But starting today, I aim to add 10 products every day and get 5000 sales by the end of the year. It doesn't hurt to dream. 🤷‍♀

Not to bash anyone, starting and growing a business is not easy, no joke. My point is, it's probably one of those things to just start and learn what converts. I made it 100 sales in 42 days. It’s now day 44 and I’m at 120. However I’m not doing digital products or pod so I have to make pack and ship my items. The plus for me is that the items cost cents to make and less than a dollar to ship.

Dear Heather, when you talk about conversion, does that mean minumum 100 views or 100 clicks? One if my listing over 1000 views and 48 cliks, according to ad statistics, but no sales. The price is lower than competitors, free shipping, 4 likes, but still no sales. I can't figure out what's wrong with it...

Optimize titles and keywords, make meticulous mockups, diligently up new product listings every day little by little...and the rest is up to Etsy ads ...10 weeks and 300 sales, I think most people Everybody can do it. 😕

This was a helpful video, with some good information. One thing that I'll say as a European seller on Etsy is that shipping rates for my products is so high that I feel like the shipping company gets a bigger slice of the cake when I make a sale as most of my sale ship outside of my country.
