Good review! I generally agree with a lot of your observations. I cancelled my Fairyloot sub several months ago due to the lackluster books.

Sorcery and Small Magics actually has a good plot and lots of humor! I know you’re not a cozy fantasy person, but I’d recommend giving that one a chance 😊 it is the least cozy between the three (the other two being honey witch and teller of small fortunes) and ends on a suggestion of a bigger plot in its sequel!

It sounds like this book box just isnt for you. If you like broken bindings art style and picks you shold sub to them instead. I personally really love the redesigns and endpaper art fairyloot does and would be sad if they changed, i dont like the super realistic look BB does and is one of the reasons i dont sub to them. Which is why im so exsided about there new epic fantasy sub, hoping to get some good fantasy picks with an artstyle i love 😍 fingers crossed to get the sub 🤞

I would love to subscribe to Broken Binding but their shipping cost to the US is just not something I can justify

@aims2859 that is a totally valid reason and I dont know how big the defrens is, but it might be worth the exstra money if its gonna give you more books you actually like/love 📚

I think the adult box should not do any young adult and romantasy picks at all now. I didn’t like most of the books they picked this year.
