Haven't watched the video, here to say, fan service is only bad when it interrupts the movie and serves no purpose. People claim that NWH and Spider-verse are fan service despite the fact that it fits in with the concept, serves a purpose, and the "fan service" characters get development. Now certainly, there will be people who over exaggerate the greatness of movies that have elements that would particularly please fans, but it doesn't change that what's there is actually good! Less so in the case of NWH, but unbelievably so in the case of the Spider-verse films. "It's just fan service" is more often that not a pitiful argument attempting to knock a movie with few flaws all of which the criticiser can't see, and it is done simply because the do not appreciate others enjoyment and praise of that movie, or they do not like the movie themself.

Honestly you should watch the video, I get the “it’s just fan service” is a weak argument but that’s not the point I’m trying to make. Mostly I’m talking about how it’s properly used and when it isn’t. I’ve also stated you’re aloud to like these movies, I just like having these kind of conversations.

@jerickquanas it's an anime that would unironically be worse without the echi. The stuff the guys pull is so absurd that you can't help but feel endeared at their determination. For example: one of their plans is to purposefully get caught doing something. The plan is to roll out a plastic sheet, strip down naked, slather themselves in oil, cover themselves in BDSM ropes and then using the oil, slide across the plastic sheet into the girls changing room. This was the first and only plan (Also spoiler free). It'll sound creepy, it really isn't

Your arguments are very weak your main criticism is thst they are not unique enough which is not the point this movie is for the existing Spider-men we already know not new things which is what spider verse does and the fact you say they aren't different enough I feel is not true theres a reason everyone debates what Spider-Man is better I think your arguments should have been how it's a plot hole mess but at the same time still a great movie which is what I thought you were gonna be so contradicted about because that's what it seemed to be building up to in the first video as this movie is incredibly flawed but also really good

My point is mainly to address fan service cause it’s still a debate because of how overused it is these days. My point isn’t just that they aren’t unique but they aren’t different characters despite it being a multiverse. Using the same character from a different movie about them doesn’t tell me it’s a multiverse, just a marketing tactic. Spider Verse creates new characters from the multiverse without using the same character from a different movie/reboot about them. If we’re gonna talk about plot holes Ned being able to open a portal like Doctor Strange was dumb. Doctor Strange had to do a lot of training to open a portal yet Ned does it by accident.
