Let's take a look a look at fast fret for your guitar. I use this a lot but should you?

I wipe my strings with a microfiber cloth after a length of time. Not sure it makes my playing any faster but believe it does maintain the clarity of tone for the strings. Thank you, AFG! 👍

No worries, yes, a bit of a clean goes a long way. My strings are now old, so I need to change them for sure. Sadly even this stuff can't prevent that eventually!

I just got some fast fret yesterday, I thought it would be nice to try out. I put some on my new guitar and man, It makes it feel way nicer when bending and going up and down the fret board without feeling like they get stuck on the frets and fingerboard. Well worth the few bucks.

Yeah, I can't live without fast fret now. I tried making my own once with shaver oil... didn't work too well!

Great video.. How long does one tin last for?
@appetiteforguitar11 ай бұрын
Thanks, it depends a lot on how often you use it, how often you change strings and how much you spread it up and down the strings, for example. I use it every time before and after playing and go up and down a couple of times. I'd say a good 6 months for a tin for my specific usage. Bearing in mind I switch between guitars a fair bit and play every day.

Any different or better than the Tibet Almond Stick?
@appetiteforguitar4 ай бұрын
Well, I've heard the Almond stick could be good for the fretboard if you have scratches to help smooth them out, but not so good for the strings (can get sticky and gritty over time as it's quite waxy apparently). Fast Fret is mainly for the strings to make them feel smooth and fast to play on. It might be worth giving the almond stick a try, but I would just go straight for the proper products if it was me. Good luck and keep rockin' 🎸🤘

I can't seem to find an answer one way or the other, but is there really any benefit to using this on treated/coated strings like D'addario, EB Paradigm, Cleartone, or Elixir?
@appetiteforguitar9 ай бұрын
In terms of feel, I like using it just because it makes sliding up and down the strings that much easier. In terms of longevity of the strings, well the treated strings are supposed to last much longer anyway....

The name made me think it cleans frets. Can it?
@appetiteforguitar3 ай бұрын
Fast Fret should keep strings lubricated and it certainly makes the guitar feel easier to play on for me. They also say it 'prolongs fingerboard life'. But I don't think it's really designed to deep clean the frets per se. I've done another video on how to do that if you're interested which might help you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHPZd4upepWIfs0

Used to be amazing and long lasting. 4 years+. New style is absolute garbage. Didn't even last 3 months. After 25 odd years of buying this product, I will never buy it again and I would recommend you do the same. ☹️

Sorry to hear that. I've been using the same tin for ages now. I rely on it. Maybe things have changed.
