@@LEGOMANIAC419 it's like, the second real Singularity. It's long, kinda boring for a large chunk of it and is mostly more Nero ... being Nero. worse, it feels like it lacks proper stakes. I mean the first 3 Singularitys have this issue, but Orleans has the benift of being the first, with a lot more amusing character interactions then you'd expect given the cast, and Okeanos has the benefit of being 'a fun Pirates of the Caribbean romp' to cover for that feeling of it being low/no stakes. Septum lacks most that, and relys almost solely on Nero to carry things. Something which Nero's personality type can turn into a grinding affair if you're not not on the Umu train. I mean I like Nero, i think she's fun, but Septum is a chore to get through. Cause imo, what makes Nero fun is when she's some one like Liz or Maid Alter to play off of. With out that, it can be pretty easy to see why people dislike her.

The one thing I have to say. If you've played the game... this anime feels so good. Since you know both the things that the anime cut, and the scenes the anime added it gives you a more... complete(fulfilling?) experience. Not to mention the fact that servants like Ushi, Leonidas and Benkei being lowstars that you more likely than not relied on to even REACH Babylonia means that you're already attached to them when the story starts (in-game) and even more so by the time they first appeared in the anime. Honestly... while I don't know how good it looks to anime onlies, to me, it's amazing. -Rip Bronidas- -Okita best Saberface!- -Septem is bad, Nero is not-

Quick Answer: Fate Grand Order is the only acceptable Isekai. Edit: There are a few things in fate lore that can support what I say. If we we're talking about introducing people to the Grand Order in a proper way we would've done this like a Fate Show or a normal Anime. The Prologue of Fuyuki would've been more than an OVA, Camelot *_would not_* be a Movie *before* Babylonia, and we would have at least started animating from the second singularity. If we wanna talk about the bigger problem of The Solomon Flashback, it goes back to the initial problem of Babylonia in of itself: We have jumped all the way to end, from the beginning.

The action is amazingly animated as always, they’re turning guys into girls again, and we see gilgamesh again. when I saw the first episode with all the flashbacks to their previous adventures (story arcs), it looked really awesome. I just Finished it a couple days ago and I can say quite confidently that it is 100% worth anybody's time. Def shouldn't be anyone's first Fate show but as long as you've seen either Zero, UBW or both and understand the servant system you'll be fine. While I'm sure some stuff did fly over my head and it was weird to jump to the last Singularity, for the most Part everything made sense and flowed well. Haven't Binged a series in a while and this one was worth the hype definitely

I’m not too surprised about the art style. It’d make no sense to have each servant shown to retain it’s own in-game art considering it’d be insanely difficult to smoothly animate characters with very unique and detailed art styles. The art style is somewhat more bland compared to the game but it still looks decent and the colours and animation are amazingly consistent. I don’t think it’s too much of a problem. The story itself is amazing though with the anime adaptation (imo) surpassing the actual game version with added scenes and some useless dialogue and/or scenes being cut to save time and allow for a smoother transition.

Taiga isnt a joke character though. Many people think so because of her initial design but if you google the name of who she represents you'll see shes exactly what shes supposed to be. If you want a general explanation of the story, I would recommend to watch "A Beginner’s Guide To Fate/Grand Order Babylonia" from AniNews channel. It might be a bit long, but you will understand why they tried to fix singularities, where did the grails come from, what technology helped them achieving such feats.

I will be waiting for this to come out onto Blue Ray, considering DVDs seem to be phasing out at least in Anime releases. Considering that this Grand Order season takes place in a deep part of the game's story towards the near ending, I have experienced previous FATE series without fully understanding the storyline of what had came before. My first Fate Anime I watched was Fate Kalied Prisma Illya and that was a fun anime to watch even if I didn't fully understand the concepts of Master and Servents and why they were all trying to obtain the Holy Grail in the first place. After getting into the Fate series from watching Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works and the movie Heaven's Feel Part 1, as well as watching Fate Apocalyptica as well as the movie Fate Grand Order to understand the gist of what is going on in Babylonia, I think I have seen as much as I could without playing the Smart Phone game. (I don't have a smart phone and don't want to play games with micro transactions.) I will enjoy this series when it is eventually released onto Blue Ray in Australia, if it ever comes out considering the market in Australia has changed with Madman Entertainment now being brought by SONY and who knows how this would affect the releases of Anime that were from Aniplex or even the ones licensed by Funimation. Already this year I discovered that all the anime from Sentai Filmworks has been unable to be released by Madman Entertainment due to the acquisition by SONY that owns both Funimation and Madman Entertainment. And without Siren Visual being around since they have died since 2017 and now Hanabee not releasing anything in 2019 after they released their last few Anime during late 2018 a year ago, I am starting to think it is either Madman Entertainment or nothing considering SONY has brought Madman Entertainment and the only releases from Madman Entertainment is either Funimation, Aniplex and a few of the Viz Media licensed anime that Madman were still under contract to release due to previous agreements before SONY brought them.

I agree about the sound design though. It is really similar to Apocrypha but at least they use other sounds instead of spamming it all over the place. Also its probably considering the fact that Cloverworks was formerly a part of A-1, which was why I was a bit skeptical about the anime not doing justice to the in game story and just pull off another Apocrypha by focusing on more face value entertainment for casual anime fans. But luckily, I was wrong. The way Cloverworks is handling stuff so far really shows that the studio has passion and cares about the fans instead of attempting mass appeal which A-1 is known for. Fight handling is really great and the best part is how straight and to the point they are with them. They did not drag the actions scenes too long and did focus on key character moments/interactions. All in all, as someone who really enjoyed the story of FGO, the adaptation is doing justice so far. It's not perfect but it's strong points do compensate for all the lacking. As for being accessible to newcomers to the franchise, you should either see first order or do some research about the setting of Grand Order before starting this. The anime was made with FGO fans being first priority so it's natural for it be not accessible to everyone. But then again, universal appeal can be problematic or even outright ruin stuff. Especially for a franchise like the Nasuverse.

Genuine quick answer: Watch the movie Fate/Grand - Order First Order, and episode 0 for Babylonia and your good. Even better, at least have seen at least one other Fate anime, but definitely not required. Also, as an anime only, I'm following 90% of everything, and loving the heck out of this anime.

I do agree that the character designs are simplistic when compared to the different designs and styles in the game. But it would be kind of hard to incorporate a bunch of different styles into the anime, and keep the look of the show consistent at the same time.
