Just saw this video, as a 26-year US army retiree I would not accept people showing up 30-45 minutes late to an event - be the last time they are evented unless it was an emergency. Time is a very critical and limited resource that should not be disregarded by people, not to mention disrespectful, IMO. I live in the Philippines and people I invite show up within 30 minutes of the invite and leave when the event is over.

The Philippines is totally different from my former homeland. As a former officer, I have been used to arriving on time. Even at dinner it was important to be on time. When I moved here, it took me more than a year before I stopped getting stressed if we were late. At formal meetings I still make sure to be on time.

I find Your videos very informative and interesting thank You for that 🤗 Im a 55 year old man from Denmark 🇩🇰 and have been watching videos from Your beautiful country for the last couple of days. I cant help My Self because Im completely blown away how frendly, natural, and open You guys are. All the smiles and eyes that says happiness and positive Souls. I live in a very rich country where the State takes care of You if needed. That is wonderful and You dont have to worrie about much in life. We are supposed to be one of the happiest Nations on earth but I dont think that. The western way of thinking and living are destroying the simple things that really matters and replaced by selfisness and a lack of thankfullness. We are to spoiled if You ask Me. We are so focused on materialism and money here in the west i think that we forget all the qualities of being a human being. I know a lot of Men here in Denmark that dreams of a more " simple " life and so do I. I would love to come and visit your beautiful country one day and maybe I can find Me a sweet loving and caring woman. Keep up the good work Love from Denmark 🇩🇰❤

"Filipino Time" aka. A day late and a peso short. HA! In the USA you arrive on time, or you get bones to chew because everyone else already ate. Where are all of the women above the age of 25 hiding? It would be nice to hear the opinions of women instead of inexperienced children. In the USA you are either early, or you are late. People lose their jobs for being late and being a woman is no excuse. Wana would be a great wife! Beautiful, tall and competent. Great topic! 👍

I really don't understand this Philippine Time . They know about the God awful traffic , they get to work on time . Philippine time , is totally disrespectful and I would never wait past 10-15 minutes for anyone. My wife and I where waiting for some of her family to show up for a dinner. 20 minutes later I ate dinner and as I was getting into a tryk to go home , I saw in the distance that they were walking up the street. Well , I just went on home and I never invited them again to any other function . My wife might have , but I find it very rude and disrespectful.

This is the thing I will have the biggest problem with Filipino culture. Being late is straight up disrespectful of everyone involved. It also shows lack of self discipline. I will not tolerate it and I'm afraid it will cause me problems there.

Filipino time..... Well... remember cultural respect goes both ways!. Showing up to a wider party/etc, then it may be acceptable to come delayed. But in western cultures... you inform the host if example 30min+ late. Or the invite may say arrive between x and y time. If it is a 1 on 1 meeting, then arriving late is considered DISRESPECT!. Especially if they are of Germanic cultures (Germany, Scandinavia, Netherland, etc). Are you late to your Doctor appointment? No? Ok, then you should understand to not disrespect your foreign friend/potential spouse. Beeing up to 30min late may be acceptable, if you are a woman. Anything beyond 30minutes REQUIRES a message to inform him that you are running late! And should honestly include some type of apologize!. Bc you KNEW the time the meeting was!. If you are more than 1 hour late... then your explenation need to be real and good!. And YES i WILL call you out on it, on the 1st date!. I will not tolerate such disrespect, so important to set down what is appropriaye behaviour. If she is inmature... then her feelings will get upset for being confronted with results from HER behaviour. But that is a test in itself. If a girl is not mature enough to be talked to for bad behaviour, then she will be a problem for any marriage. Btw, not saying to be mean to the girl. But be serious, and explain that such behaviour is disrespectful in non-filipino cultures. And give examples. If she replies with the "but i am filipina, so this is how it is in philippines"... and she knows YOU are not filipino....then you know that she is unable to see things from different views. She lacks necesary emphatic ability, and is argumentative. All bad habits. Not be cold. Not be a wall. But be reasonable. There should be SOME leeway for misunderstandings etc. Because anyone can adapt, have some emphaty, learn from eachother, etc. But it is her way of responding and reacting to things that you should analyze.

Example i am of Germanic decent. Being on time is very important. So if have a meeting with someone... i may arrive 20 minute EARLY... just bc i wanted to be sure i would not get caught in traffic etc etc etc. And then i will just walk arpund in the neighbourhood etc until its aprox exact meeting time. If it is a meeting with a girl that i really want to see... then i would gone even further to make sure no hickups. Example arrive even earlier, walk around until time, refresh at the closest mall bathroom etc before arriving to meet her. The more important, the more should go to length to be punctual. And of Germanic blood, discipline and timely is in our blood. However my father side is spanish... and in Spain they also is hopeless with time. And that offcourse has dramatic impact on the south european economies vs north european economies.

Time is the greatest commodity a person has to give. Money/material things come and go, but time is finite, you only have so much of it, don't let someone else WASTE yours. Being late is rude and disrespectful to the other person and shows laziness. If it's for a date, she would be standing there alone because I'm not waiting around for her to decide to finally show up. She's been getting ready her entire life, she knows how long it takes her, if she's late, she's already shown me she wasn't really that interested in me because she wasn't excited enough to see me ON TIME. I run on real world time, if she's running on fantasy time, we're not in the same realm and can't be together in reality. The cure for "Filipino time" is changing the mind set that they can just show up whenever they feel like it and having consequences for their actions, they show up late, they go without, while everyone on time gets the reward. Thanks Lorie and all the ladies participating in the interview, I hope you all have a wonderful day.
