So what's the math for fishing versus farming, how big of a difference is it?

Its more that the fishing ships acts like extra villagers before castle age when you have multiple tc’s running. Which means that you kinda act like a cuman double tc boom while your opponent is limited to one tc.

Fishing boat = 100 wood / cannot hide nor allocate to different resource Fish trap = 100 wood provides 715 food / building time 40s Dock = 150 wood Villager = 50 food / can hide in TC, tower, castle and can be allocated to different resource Farm dark age = 175 food / building time 15s Farm feudal = 250 food (need resources for upgrade) So in long run fish boom > regular build order with farms only In short run probably no, especially if your docks get discovered fast, its basically thousands of resources that cannot be moved anywhere without any protection. Conclusion you should fish trap, but protect it more as its a big investment. Best way if you can find a pond behind your base :D

It doesnt have to be a VS. Think of the dock as an additional TC. but the vils can only fish.
