Today my sleep indicator showed no sleep. Continuous problems with this products prohibits me from throwing away good money after bad. If you can't get the basics right why should I pay for accessories.

Hi! Not sure what the issue might be there. For me it took like 1-2 days for the sleep readings to start coming through in the Fitbit app when I first started using it. I recently reviewed the Xiaomi Watch S3 which costs less than Fitbit Charge and whilst it's not perfect, I thought it was great value: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnzFoJajrJuZeK8 If you're happy to spend a bit more for better quality, durability and no paywalls, I'd highly recommend checking out Garmin wearables. Hope that helps 😀

Again (I left a similar comment on your Garmin Vivosmart video), thank you for the details about the blood oxygen tracking at night. So helpful to know that it just shows an average. Really helps me narrow down which tracker I want to get. Thank you!

Hi, I like this good review. Still, it shows still the appealing, friendly and easy to consume look and feel of the old application. Meanwhile Fitbit updated this to a rather unappealing, gray-green one with fat icons, messed up the easy usability of the sleep statistics, removed the possibility to change the recorded sport category, and some more strange design decisions. A pity as the app was before reeeeally good. Now many users are pretty annoyed and angry in the community. Would love to see Fitbit going back to the good design before.

Hello! Yes I agree, the Fitbit app updated very recently after filming this to a colour scheme that isn't really intuitive unfortunately! Other apps like Garmin Connect have a much better UI.

Great review. Could you comment on accuracy of step tracking of the charge 6 as well as miscounting steps in day to day activities while moving around the house. I tried the latest Samsung Galaxy Fit3 and found that aside from the range of sync issues in that watch it also terribly miscounted steps in day to day activities. Also is there any other budget fitness tracker you would recommend that is accurate esp with step tracking
@thewearableist
@thewearableist 4 ай бұрын
Hello 👋🏻 Almost all wearables will under or overestimate steps to an extent due to false hand movements and shorter movements around the house. In my experience the Charge 6 overestimated steps by around 300-500 steps compared to the Garmin Vivosmart 5 and Garmin Venu 2, both of which I wore at the same time as the Charge 6. With that said, I tried the Amazfit Bip 5 recently (almost half the price of Charge 6) but it underestimated steps by around 700-800 steps compared to the two Garmins. Overall the Charge 6 is not that far off and sufficiently reliable. Ultimately, the steps are only a rough estimate whichever wearable you buy, I wouldn't worry a lot about the steps accuracy. Hope that helps 😀

What do you think about built quality and longivity of charge 6, i have seen some reviews of charge 5 and previous Fitbit that they breakdown or screen got blackout within 1 years.
@thewearableist
@thewearableist 3 ай бұрын
Hi. I had a Fitbit Charge 3 bought in 2018 and used it till 2022 till I switched to Garmin Venu 2. It still worked and charges ok just don't use it. On online forums we normally see upset customers of course so take online opinions and forums with a pinch of salt for any wearable (still useful to do the reaearch so good you're looking into it). It ultimately depends on how you use any take care of any electronic item. Its more of a lifestyle/fitness/health tracking and not really a "rugged" sportswatch (Garmin/Polar/Suunto). If you are looking to do extreme sports and things like mountaineering etc., then you'd need a more rugged device. But if you're into general fitness (running, walking, gym, yoga, cycling), sleep tracking, heart rate tracking, then it should be okay. Hope that helps 😀

Garmin vivofit band 5 vs vivosmart vs fitbit charge 6?
@thewearableist
@thewearableist Ай бұрын
Hi! The Garmin Vivofit series only has Vivofit 4 (not 5) as of August 2024 so I presume you were referring to this. I haven't tested the Vivofit 4 on this channel yet but a look at Garmin's website shows that it is a very basic activity tracker, very much limited in terms of the activities/workouts it can track compared to the Vivosmart 5 and Fitbit Charge 6. Much smaller touchscreen as well, plus point is battery lasts 1+ year without charging and then you need to replace these. I would only go for this if you want the bare minimum fitness tracking features. For Vivosmart 5, please check this video out which may help:kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHrKqYikgqqgrac Overall, Vivosmart 5 doesn't have a colour AMOLED screen like the Charge 6 but does the fundamentals of fitness, health and recovery tracking very well. It can also record more activities than the Vivofit 4. However, it lacks smart features when compared to the Charge 6. Durability of Vivosmart 5 is however better compared to Charge 6. Also, Garmin Connect has no paywalls - all free to use and is one of the best out there. Fitbit Charge - does fitness and health tracking well, colour AMOLED touchscreen, suite of smart features (incouding Google Wallet built-in). However, Fitbit/Google have put a paywall in many areas in the app which is a big drawback. Also, long-term durability is questionable - a lot of the viewers have already commented below about this so that's something to keep in mind. Hope this helps 😀

@@thewearableist Thanks a lot. I also do own an apple watch which I dont wear daily because of my love for mechanical watches and the annoying requirement for charge. With the apple watch, it is also not comfortable to wear throughout the day and specially at night so thought of going with a fitness band (not a ring because I want to see my heart rate while on my rowing machine without opening my phone). Wanted to know if and which would be compatible with apple health ? I 100% do want that my heart rate should be showing throughout while I am rowing? Is there any other fitness band out there which might be better than either of these two ? From your review it seems that Fitbit has all the Garmin features (and some additional) but with the paywall and the pros for the Garmin is the better in app analysis
@thewearableist
@thewearableist 19 күн бұрын
@ramjuneja6065 hi! It's great to see your use case for rowing. There are other manufacturers that do fitness bands/trackers and are compatible with iOS (not 100% sure if they import data into Apple Health though). Check out Xioami, Huawei and Amazfit. I haven't yet had the chance to test Huawei trackers (it's on my to-do list 🙂). Having used Garmin for a long time, I'm a big fan of their wearables and their app. No paywalls (I wouldnt recommend Fitbit due to this), no gimmicks at all and good compatibility with iOS and Android. Others are catching up but it will take a while till they reach the durability, robustness, quality and support like Garmin. Hope it helps 😀

Hi, Should i go for inspire 3 or charge 6 (I need a good sleep tracker) because charge 6 is double the price of inspire 3. Is it worth paying twice the amount for charge 6?
@thewearableist
@thewearableist 3 ай бұрын
Hi. I've had a quick look at both Inspire 3 and Charge 6. If its sleep tracking you're mainly after rather than all the other bells and whistes like ECG, Google Maps etc., then it makes sense to go for the slightly cheaper Inspire 3 (both do sleep tracking). You can also answer a couple of questions on this link and let Fitbit recommend you a tracker: www.fitbit.com/global/uk/products/find-your-fit Although I haven't tested Inspire 3 on this channel, I've done a quick comparison against Charge 6, here are the main features you won't get with Inspire 3 (but available on Charge 6): In-built GPS, Google Wallet, ECG sensor, EDA app, KZbin Music controls, Google Maps. So if the above features are not important to you then I'd agree with your decision on Inspire 3. Hope that helps 😀

I was looking for a good sleep tracker and was going to get the inspire 3 and made the mistake of getting the charge 6. Firstly the charge 6 has a bit uncomfortable strap that folds under not over like normal watch straps I replaced the strap after 4 days. The charge 6 has GPS that does not work. The youtube music control requires a youtube fee of 10 a month. The google maps is not full maps just telling you when to turn. 3 weeks ago with in an hour of buying I new I hade made the wrong choice. You could not try them on properly in the shop , When I tried it on and then went to use you tube and found have to pay I realised this was not so good,

Hi, thanks for watching! Yep, fully agree with you and these were exactly the annoying things for me too...the biggest one for me was the paywall in the Fitbit app. Having said that, it still did the fundamentals of fitness tracking (really) well. But yeah there are some cons to the Charge 6.
@edword7195

I have owed mine 30 days. The strap falls off often. The GPS does not work. You have to pay a monthly fee for youtibe. Its not very good for running as get loats of pointless buzzing and it does not even light the screen. You also may not want use this for cycling as GPS is terrible and the bands fall off. It is a great sleep tracker. A huawei tracker for 100 less is probably better for sport but huawei is banned from the app store and the Fitbit charge 6 has better sleep tracking

Hi! Looks like you're band connection points are knackered...I agree with the buzzing when running - I realised there was a max HR set on the tracker by default, but I turned it off after I got annoyed by it.

@thewearableist
@thewearableist 4 ай бұрын
Hi 👋🏻 I use the Polar H10 chest strap which uses Electro-cardiogram (ECG) to gather HR data (instead of optical sensors like on the Charge 6 and most other wrist-based wearables). Polar H10 is one of the most accurate ones out there, used commonly by athletes and is often considered the gold standard for HR measurements. Link here: www.polar.com/uk-en/sensors/h10-heart-rate-sensor Hope that helps 😀

Hello 👋🏻 thanks for watching! You can find all the info on using Googe Wallet on the Charge 6 here: support.google.com/fitbit/answer/14236521?hl=en#zippy=%2Cwhy-dont-i-see-the-google-wallet-tile%2Chow-do-i-set-up-contactless-payments You need to make sure your card is supported first, use this link to check: www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/google-apps/banks Here are the steps once you've confirmed your card/bank is supported: To start, add at least 1 credit or debit card from a participating bank in the Fitbit app: -With your device nearby, from the Today tab in the Fitbit app, and tap the devices icon . -Tap your device, then tap the Google Wallet tile. -Follow the on-screen instructions to add a payment card. In some cases, your bank may require additional verification. -If you’re setting up contactless payments for the first time, you may be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your device. Note that you also need passcode protection enabled for your phone. -After you add a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven’t already done so) to complete the setup. -You can add additional cards and choose which card to set as the default payment option on your device from the Google Wallet tile. Hope that helps 😀

@thewearableist

Hello. There isn't any button on the cable as far as I know and seen when I tested it. If you're referring to the golden pins, those are the magnetic charging pins that latch onto the Charge 6 when you charge it. The circular thing on the USB-A side is not a button, it just glows when the fitbit is charging. All I got was a standard USB-A to Magnetic charging cable. For info, this is the charging cable I got: www.fitbit.com/global/uk/products/accessories/charge6-charging-cable The circular thing on the USB-A side is not a button, just glows I think when you charge it. Hope that helps 😀

Hi thanks for watching. Fitbit Charge 6 and Whoop band are both lighter than the Apple Watch Ultra so both are better during sleep. With Charge 6, you can get decent sleep metrics, health and fitness metrics - but to unlock additional insights you have to pay for Fitbit Premium which is $9.99/month. With Whoop band, you don't have a screen on the wearable as such as everything is viewed on your phone - BUT the subscription cost is higher which is $239 per year upfront (which works out to just over $19/month). If cost was a barrier then it would be a Charge 6 as it can still give you most fitness, health and sleep metrics for free and you can chose not to pay extra for the Premium features. Whoop band is apparently used by athletes and maybe gets you more insight but there's an ongoing annual cost to it (the annual Whoop subscription costs more than the Charge 6 itself). Note the other viewers have commented around durability of the Charge 6 screen in this video so if that's an issue for your then the Whoop band doesn't have a screen and inherently better to use day-to-day. Hope that helps.

@@thewearableist Thank you for replying. I was searching for a review of this particular fitness band from an Indian so that I can relate to it... You know we Indians don't trust anybody easily (especially foreigners, because of course their way of using it is quite different from ours). I am glad that I found your review. I'm so much into analog watches that I never purchased a smartwatch. One day I noticed Rahul Gandhi wearing a band during his Yatra, and after some research got to know that, it was Fitbit Charge 6.
