I need to thank you for explaining the Bus to me that made sense right away. Many on the internet try to make themselves look impressive and dance around a subject almost in what looks like an attempt to gain more air time than deliver the important information. I am a 62 yr old performing classical pianist most of my life and composer the past several years. Never use the BUS until you explained it correctly. Studio One DAW. It lightens my work flow and allows my computer to run smoothly. That was 2 days ago. I am now following you and look forward to your subject matter. You get to the point and are a good teacher. thanks. Farmer George Pianist Composer

As a long-time user of the Fruity Loops (FL Studio) platform, this was refreshing to listen to. I used FL since version 3.56 and I've always enjoyed the pattern style workflow. I made tracks in Reasons 3 and 4 as well. I love the stock sounds of Reasons much better, but it's always been easier to manipulate sounds in FL. I also like that I can take parts of the song and group them by labeling the patterns so that I drop parts down in the playlist. Good talk fellas...✊🏽

Quick tips : 1. just right click on the plus icon in channel rack, and it opens up the plugin window, not the list one, the more pretty big one...and you can type right there to search, and hit enter to add. It's neat. 2. You can also rename plugins in fl, in windows. If you put numbers 1-9 before the actual name of the oluign, u hit that number and that plugin will be pop in channel rack. So u can have 10 of your fav plugins right there... 3. You can also create your own categories in fl browser and tell samples to show up in specific categories. You can colour them and give them a symbol...for e.g. I have different genres as categories. Please tell me some tips gang.

@HuChing-ob4kk incorrect , at its inception it was not a DAW but neither was FL studio and they both are now DAWs by literal definition .
@HuChing-ob4kk Жыл бұрын
@@SpaceShipSin They are NOT DAWS by definition becuse th eoriginal definiation of DAW hasnt changed... what has happend is they INCLUDED the definition of DAW to include FL Studio and Ableton..which STILL are NOT DAWS...because a producer/studio CANNOT take FL Studio and Ableton and produce and artist from start to finish... those fake DAWS do not have the components NEEDED to be a DAWS..they are good for drum and bass music, electronic music and hip hop... REAL DAWS are digital emulations of compete analogue studio environments..that allows you to record, edit, mix and master..adding a "DAW like" compnnet here and there does NOT make Reason. FL Studi Ableton n a "DAW" by definition.... Cakewalk, Nuendo, Pro Tools, MOTU, Cubase, etc are DAWS by definition..even Reaper..even though it doesnt have advanced features is MORE of a DAW than Fl Studio or Ableton..and Reason still is NOT a DAW.. just because you put some wings and a propeller on a TEsla doesnt make it an airplane

Personally, I feel like LJ talks about his love of FL Studio all the time. This is one of favourite podcasts and I love watching you guys, but I'm Ableton gang and I feel like Ableton needs some more respect on this podcast. I feel like Courtney doesn't get to talk as much as LJ or Devvon and he should get to speak more about Ableton and how great it is. That being said, I do agree that FL Studio and Pro Tools have been making great improvements and listening to their community and the new Ableton update leaves some room for improvement. Two things I would love to see implemented is bounce in place (Logic style) and clip gaining (Pro Tools). They just added the feature Pro Tools has to zoom in on the waveform without actually boosting volume (visual feature). In terms of workflow, production, sound design and of course live performing, Ableton is simply the top dawg. It's really quick to get things done, which I don't find as much with other DAWs I have used (FL, Pro Tools, Logic). Also Max 4 Live is endless and the stock plugins are incredible. It's crazy what you can do if you just mess around with them for a bit. Also I think Ableton's ethos is just unique, the way it approaches audio and production is so different and futuristic. It feels and looks different from all other daws. The only other Major DAW I think has this uniqueness is FL Studio. One DAW I quite like is Studio One, which I've played around with, especially for mixing. Even though I'd never used it I could quickly understand the workflow. I think you guys should try it out!!! Cubase as well cause they just had a major update too, so we can see the development of all the daws. I felt that Cubase and Studio One are very similar from what I can tell. Ableton needs the respect, for it's every bit as good as any other DAWs. Love all the DAWs (but Ableton is GOAT lol). Peace ☮ and love ❤

i would love to come on the show to really show how all these producers don't have extensive enough experience in each DAW to actually make an informed suggestions outside of what their own music POV is.... With having Blackbird studio level experience in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reason, Studio One, Cubase, and Ableton Live, and a small amount of experience on FL due to its massive limitations over the years in tracking live instruments, it would be nice to see someone who is able to show how the different DAWs have started and where they are now, because some of these DAWs started lightyears ahead where some have been around for ages and still are playing off of old programing and coding.
