Is Flea Market LEGO Overpriced?

I go LEGO shopping at the flea market and find the prices are higher than what I would want to pay. Is flea market LEGO overpriced or am I just being cheap? Let's discuss it in this video. Also, I share my LEGO flea market haul.

So many people capitalising on the popularity of LEGO. Yes, those bags of LEGO were a rip off. However, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Who knows how long those bags will sit at their stall before they're sold to someone with more dollars than sense.

even in europe .. its so heavy overpriced ... but not just lego .. everything on the fleamarkets is overpriced ... because many people are willing to pay the price... recently i found a beat up half of a cheap ninjago set and they still asked 50 bucks for it ...

Nothing new with the selling of second hand lego at flea markets. Most of my childhood Lego came from places like this. 20 years ago there was a women with Lego Minifigures in a giant bag obviously her business was sorting and selling user Lego.

The Bags where standard price which is 15$ to 20$ per KG so not really over over priced.

I think sometimes sellers on Facebook and flea markets know LEGO is valuable so they actually (often unwittingly) over compensate with the prices even after the profit margin.

Some one sold me a giant box of lego for 7 bucks and then asked me if I wanted to get knex for 3 bucks on top of seven and there was giant collection of knex and lego so I got lucky

Well I wouldn't say lego is overpriced. Lego pays a lot for licenses for theme's as star wars, harry potter, jurassic world. Above that, the lego bricks are of awsome quality and go a lifetime (at least I have some pieces from the late 60's early 70's that are in great shape)

@@rick3043 where i live it certainly is overpriced, old speed champions sets cost TWICE the amount the cost in dollars, EXACTLY twice the amount of money, and ppl here dont have much cash and have problems making ends meet, it so unfair

I would of passed on everything that I saw. I don’t think they were ripping off people but I’m like you - it’s just not a deal enough for a bag of random or color sorted parts. If I saw some rare elements I might have been interested. I don’t think you did bad for $10.

I buy random lots from Ebay by the pound. Sometimes you get some really good stuff. But, if I need specific bricks in specific color; thank the Lego gods for Bricklink.

The plate is $4.99 plus tax over here so that's a deal I've been looking all summer they don't have Lego any where so your lucky , it all depends how much Lego you have I would have scooped the whole bucket.

In 2018 I went to my local flea market and got two giant bags of pieces for $8 and one of the bags I got had a green base plate

I think for the market value of lego online all of the prices were reasonable. I think the last three had the best prices. It really matters what you want and how valuable it is to you. If you are making mocks with lots of one color or type of bricks some of those would be desirable. If you are reliving your childhood and want classic figures then some of the others are what you want. If you want minifigures then there is a different place. You got the best bang for your buck for sure. There was a much better selection than I thought based on the Greg's world video. If I were there I probably would have gotten the green and brown bags because I am always looking for those and i wouldnt have been smart enough to wait til I had looked at all the booths first.

Some of the bags even have fake LEGO amd non LEGO stuff in them! At 0:32, there is a piece of K'nex, and at 0:50 there is a fake LEGO baseplats, plus at least two other fake LEGO pieces.

15$ per 1 KG is the going rate for Lego so not really over priced but that price would limet me buying any because I know I can get it cheeper only becaues I take the time to go look around for the best deal which most people don't imo.

I love to do this. I go to my local flea market every sunday the dudes there usually have very pricey lego sets sealed and used.but i love to buy the random bins and set up the sets and buy the rest of the pieces

All of those other LEGO sellers were overpriced. Those 16x16 plates usually sell for about $3 USD. You can never have too much LEGO if you know how to densely store your collection. The best part about all friends sets are the large plates, the wall bricks and the accessories. The best people to buy any collectables from are people who don’t know what they’re selling

Hi! I think prices were good. I realy liked that minifinger colection. If I was there I would probably bought some minifingers and that ninjago snake car was just awesome. Also that sorted by color pieces I think were worth to buy.

It's the same in Germany. Before sellers build up their stands they check all prices on eBay. Impossible to make any good deals these days.

In the UK we call these Flea markets "Car Boot Sale" and Iv seen some great prices for Lego and some not so great but more often I get great deals. One guy sells sets ridiculously cheep for example a set worth 100£ he will sell to me for 25£. From another seller I picked up the huge ExoForce gate set for just 19£.

Go to salt lake city utah There is lego )offbrand lego( in the swapmeet. The swapmeet is a Mexican flea market and lego is like 1$ for a lego train and the system sets even the FIRST lego set is there. Redwood swapmeet and indoor swapmeet around the corner.

Yea, it seems anywhere u go some try sell by ebay prices anytime now. that why they always say shop around unless u feel u need buy right then. so browse the flea market and if feel need to get then go for it at time, but if get better deals at yard sales cause they just wanna ge rid of stuff for decent price any then score good stuff at yard sale. it like me with any dvd, i know where to go for them at certain price, so always score good ones at anytime if u want it that bad.

Yeah flea markets in terms of LEGO are getting more pricey nowadays, I always see minifigs for 4-5$ and incomplete Star Wars sets for 30-50$. People are have more access to the internet so they are more smarter with their stuff. Good video Greg.

I usually look for minifigures and horses. Also I look for accesoiries, I recentelly gave 5 euro for a bag full of minifigure pieces, minifigure accesoiries and special pieces. Good deal. But I guess your collection is bigger than mine conscidering im only 14. Im jealous of you finding so much vintage LEGO. Peace.

I think so but just depends on where you live. Where I'm at we have one spot in our local I hit and pretty much no matter what it's $10 I got the Lego Technic fire plane for that and Anikins Starfighter complete in box for that. Just recently found an Indiana Jones set there.

In my opinion it is very cheap if you are american. In my country most of peoples earn around 600$ per month ( it is european country, but $ is worth almost 4 times more than our currency ) so it is not cheap for me. If in my country lego was so cheap that is in USA ( not cost 4 times more...) I would buy a much more. You americans have cheapest lego in the world... You earn in $, you have garage sales, walmart promotions etc.
