I think it would help to clarify 'woke'. There are a subset who try to paint anything vaguely left as the latest "woke" insanity. But if you define it as leftism taken to a point of absurdity or with a clear element of performance, then you can mock it. It's not joining the right (or shouldn't be). And you can even mock things that you participate in. It's called self-deprecation and having a sense of humor.

I’m 14 and at school I’m surrounded by people who have the stereotypical gen z attitude. Even the teachers at my school encourage it, and honestly I find a lot of it ridiculous. I know people who have changed their gender and sexuality more times than I can count, just because they ‘don’t want to be straight.’ It’s become a replacement for a personality:( Anyways, it’s just refreshing to know I’m not the only one who feels the same way🤍

We all have to think critically… for instance .. who stands to benefit from us allowing Or believing the woke BS? Who /what stands to benefit? The what’s the actual outcome of the hyper-sensitive language change, doesn’t it drive a wedge between all of us? So we’re afraid to even speak to each other. Afraid that no one is on the same page as me. Isolate us which is NO GOOD for any human or animal. Some power brokers who want to divide and destroy us from in the inside are doing it. Dont fixate on the names of the gazillionaires bc it doesn’t matter: if you strike one down another will pop up. We need to recognize we are being manipulated. America got strong because we shared belief in meritocracy and property rights and rule of law and rights to your day in court, habeas corpus. We didn’t need to all be the same religion, because we had those shared ideals. But we are being dismantled and the young are just the useful idiots. Don’t be a pawn people!!! Golden rule! Are your parents woke? 14 seems young to find woke on your own and then change. I keep telling my kids that now that you see all these adult wokes that kids will start rebelling against it. It is cheesy and honestly boring. I am a mom of all girls and I raised them to laugh about sexist jokes and not to take any of it seriously. It is fun to be able to laugh at yourself and realize that all that matters is how you feel about yourself. Now that you aren’t woke you can enjoy laughing at it all.

I suffered a miscarriage a few months ago, and when the first sign appeared, I was devasted, and so I immediately called my public health line to get their opinion and some guidance on what to do. The woman answered the phone and heard me crying and trying to explain myself, and the first thing the woman on the other end of the phone asked me was what I identify as.... I said, "Excuse me, she said whats your gender..." I said if you don't know what my gender is, then you certainly don't know how to help me... and in a time like this let me tell you how heartbreaking that is and I hung up. I then went to the hospital and was seen by a younger male doctor who treated me with such dignity and compassion. That man knew what this woman was going through and his response was as it should be We need to raise our voices because this has gone to far. How can any woman call themselves a feminist when they advocate to diminish who and what we are like its a game.

Two things that happened to me that honestly just did not make sense: 1. My friend came out as non-binary (changed her pronouns and everything). Literally had zero physical transitioning at all, but she had teachers start calling her by her new name, and would correct people when they didn’t use the right stuff. Couple of weeks later, she asks me and my friend to “stop outing her”. 2. Same friend from the end of the last one, we were having a sleepover. We’re all making things using those little beads that you iron in my room. Somehow the topic comes around to the friend who changed their name and pronouns. My little sister says, “Oh, you mean [old name]?”. Friend keeps correcting my sister and, after a few attempts, just starts calling my *10 year old little sister* homophobic. Saddest part of all of this is that me and my friends are all preteens. None of us are even developed enough to make such huge decisions. I think the main problem is that people who do these things forget that it actually affects the people around them. Also the fact that some people do not understand all of it. Like mentioned in the last event, *you cannot call someone homophobic because some of us are too young or aren’t online as much you are to understand* . People who really believe these things need to take a step back every once and a while and look at the bigger picture.

You are being very mature here. lad that your little sister called that ''friend' by her real name and not by the BS name and fake ''non binary' name. She is not to be ut down for being a child and knowing fakery when she sees it. Apparently your ''friend' is just following a FAD and in another year she will return to her senses.

People who believe those things need to take a step off a cliff as they are authoritarian enforcers of the sect of cultural Marxist groupthink. Rejoice in your youth, it will not recur and represents such a comparatively short period of your entire lifetime and a time which used to be carefree. Clearly these are your inner instincts, trust them. Be young, enjoy yourself, there are plenty of years ahead of you in which to be an adult, don't try to be that before you need to, or you'll always regret it once you are and can then never go back. Be blessed always.

Me too. Seeing creators like Brett and Amala has opened my eyes that just because I disagree with the tik tok woke agenda doesn't make me a bad person. I see so much more hate from the left and so much morw for exclusion. They leave no room for nuance and cancel the people who even remotely question them. They scream "stop taking my rights" as they try and shut down free speech and even freedom of religion. It's all just victimhood, they want to be "discriminated" against because they are bored and have nothing going on in their real lives.

Ever since I started college I felt myself becoming more "woke" but it's channels like Brett's that kinda snapped me back to reality. Political truths are a real thing. You hear something repeated so much you start to believe it's true, and you feel like it's wrong to question it.

@@nickcunningham6344i would add that there is something like peer pressure. If your surrounding tells you that particular things are good, and actively discouraging from watching alternative opinion, it's natural to steer in that direction. Labelling conservativism as fascism worked very well. Only thing that saved "right" is fact that left goes too fast and too far, that started condradict stances that were considered "left" just few years, or even months prior. Same stance that would label someone just 15 years ago as "left" in today standards is labelled as right, or even far right. Another thing is that majority of policies promoted as just by left, just don't work, and often makes situation worse.

The rest of us know better because we don’t want to be canceled or given bad grades by lib professors. But there are normal people around. Some kids in my sociology class even speak on their right wing views and I admire their courage but worry for them. All that being said, I’m at a community college with kids that weren’t al raised privileged/spoiled like many other schools. I’d imagine upbringing has a lot to do with political views at that age. Good teachers will yell at you if youre messing around and actually teach things, though when these kids get yelled at they automatically assume it is the teacher’s fault. They don’t realize it’s actually their behavior. When a teacher assigns 30 minutes of reading all the kids do is complain when instead they can be better and learn from that 30 minutes of reading.

I’m a Gen Z (a little younger than Brett), and growing up with a conservative mom and a liberal dad I never really knew what to believe regarding politics. But when I was watching Brett’s channel I realized that I agree with a lot of the things that she says. In my school it seems like everyone has a political opinion and basically all my peers are very left and woke and I’m afraid to voice my opinion at school. I’m not really conservative per se (I’m more on the independent side), but it’s so nice to hear that I’m not the only person who prioritizes rationality over these ridiculous woke agendas. My wife works first shift at a grocery store as a stocker. She is 6'1" with a size 14 foot, has very short hair, wears no makeup, and is masculine in the way she dresses. She has never once corrected anyone (neither at work nor outside of work) when they've said things like, 'hey dude, which aisle is the ____ in?', or 'aha--now *here's* a tall guy, can you reach the _____ for me?', or 'excuse me, sir, what time does the store close?'...She understands that many people, when glancing at her, are probably going to think she's a guy, and she understands why people think she's a guy. She's never felt the need to say to anyone who mistakes her for a man, 'hey, I'm a WOMAN', because she already *knows* she's a woman. I do understand why actual trans people--and by 'actual trans', I mean physically transitioned, taking hormones, and dressing as the opposite sex as they were born as/the sex they want to be--could get sensitive about being misgendered, but if they don't expect to be misgendered (edit: removed an extra word here) or they get offended by being misgendered, they have a serious self-awareness problem.

I'm Gen Z (22f) and I'm so glad more of us are speaking out about this!!! When I was in my early teens, I actually used to consider myself quite liberal. My "liberalness" was basically entirely based on my beliefs that gay marriage should be legal, trans adults can do what they want with their bodies, separation of church and state, blah blah blah. I still believe in these things, but I never could have predicted how far it would go. I thought I was standing for a movement of freedom. Freedom to marry the one you love regardless of sex, freedom to present yourself to the world as you wish to be seen, freedom of religion. I stood by this until, to my surprise, the woke brigade became apparently adamantly anti-freedom!!! I don't like being told what to do or what to think, so I immediately stepped away and reassessed what I was being an ally to. The only person who I feel I can openly talk about politics with is my partner, who has always been conservative, and my older family members, who are like "wtf is going on with people nowadays??"

Same. I watch with distrust anyone who tries to tell others what they should say or what they should do, in any side of the political spectrum. I don't trust you if you tell me I can't joke about religion, I don't trust you if you tell me I can't joke about trans people. I don't trust you when you say people can't do what they want with their body, be it wear dreadlocks as a white person or get an abortion (yes there is an alive fetus involved but it can't feel anything, so the woman's freedom definitely takes precedence). Don't try to impose your morals on other people and you're good in my book. As long as you don't physically harm others, you should be able to do what you want with your life. As long as emotional damage goes, it's too subjective to be regulated by law, hence speech should stay completely free. Most of the time people should be able to control their emotional reactions, so it should be up to them to deal with whatever they feel when someone says something they don't like. Nothing should be outlawed because it "offends" people, because it's them who decide to get offended. And at the same time, the concept of "canceling" or obstracizing someone for something they think is abysmal to me. People have to learn how to disagree in a civil manner and be tolerant to those that don't think the way you do. The only thing that's intolerable to me is the lack of tolerance itself, and boy there is lots of it both in the left and the right nowadays

Seeing you here, a conservative gen z with a gay pride flag in his icon who hates the woke mob just as much as I do, it's not only refreshing to see, but it also makes me realize it's true that not all people flying flags or wearing pins are dangerous. I appreciate people like you! 😊 I guess I would be considered a centrist lesbian who really hates narcissists. I do not honestly know what will happen in your generation since it's so far removed from the time a 30 year old like me grew up in. But back then, the big things that worried me at 14 are nonsense to me now (at the same time that the things that made me happy at that age are still pure joyful memories for me). So just be open to growing up? You'll jump beliefs throughout your life and dont be scared to dump the beliefs that do not fit the reality you face. Good luck!

As much as it hurts my millennial soul to say this... this is a moment when the Boomers were right: you actually do grow out of a LOT of this. Brain chemistry stops developing in our mid 20s, and the older you get the more Gen Z will calm down over all. The key here is getting older and realizing Gen X & the Boomers were often right and we were dumbf*ck is humiliating af. Because it's humiliating, a LOT of your own generation will go batshit insane and try to hold on to being young. And it's up to peers to correct them so they can actually go somewhere in life. Gotta take being a common sense adult seriously in order for it to work. And yes, it f*cking sucks. But also yes: if you put actual effort into it, it's rewarding af. Go figure. 🤷‍♀️

@@Over_It you are going to another extreme here... Find some balance. Yes, we live by the law of majority and "fitting" uniformly makes life easier from a social standpoint... But that doesn't mean it is right. Stop following trends for god sake so you can be happier overall and just be yourself without enforcing your point of view onto others unless they aren't aware they are harming themselves or others. Edit: Also please don't spout senseless bullshit about brain chemistry if you don't understand how it works, and I'm aware you don't because of what you wrote. @@Over_It You make a good point about the difficulty of walking back your own earlier beliefs. The further in you go, the further it is to crawl back out.
@Over_It

@Cheryll Waldrop I mean, the point I was trying to make is that I never doubted that there was hope for Gen Z to become rational. Boomers told us wisdom comes with age, and they were right. I am a millenial, & as I get older I calm down more. I get more rational & practical and I feel less like I can change the world. Gen Z is young. Most of them will reach the Zen Point the rest of us did. The ones who don't reach it are scared of getting old & they act out. It's something my Boomer parents always used to say: "when you're my age, you'll understand." It's not fashionable to praise Boomers, but in this case, they were right. Gen Z will hit 30 and realize that the things they're so freaked out about actually don't matter all that much, and they'll realize that fear-mongering & social crazes are real things.

I have been watching narcissism growing since the late 60's. It has finally reached 'critical-mass' and too many younger people seem to believe the world revolves around them and they are just so special that their whims should be catered to. One thing that helps build strength in this narcissism is the positive attention given to these people...another is the fact that it gives them some level of power over others in their speech and behavior. Add media and government validating this behavior and we have a recipe for disaster. I am glad that some are waking up and pushing back. I only hope it is not too late.

I remember when the trans movement first started getting big there was a psychologist that said it was a mental disorder that needed to be adressed with counseling. He got so much backlash that he rescinded his video.
@junrobin9335
@junrobin9335 4 ай бұрын
Kinda feel that is rather wrong to do, you shouldn't deny what something is simply cause you don't like the answer. Being trans is a form of extreme body dysmorphia. You can get a variety of different types of body dysmorphia some with zero ways to solve them. So I would say, start with therapy and keep going with that until you are eighteen and considered mentally stable enough to make as big a decission as a transitioning. Because that has long lasting effects that you don't want to regret. For the people whose issues with their gender identity wouldn't be solved by simple therapy do actually benefit from it and lead a better live after transitioning. But for the ones where therapy would have been enough, they often feel wrong after the change too because the actual root cause of the issue went unadressed. You gotta know how to live with your issues before making a drastic choice.

I'm a mother and my husband and I were born in millennial generation. Honestly when this all woke ideologies broke out on the Internet and some schools were welcoming the idea, my husband and I were alarmed and pull out our kids to public schools and started homeschooling. As a parent we understand that we have a responsibility to raise our kids on the right path and if they are older they can decide for themselves. We just wanted them to fully enjoy their childhood and not be consistently worry about it this confusing and difficult time for gen Z. Children should be protected from all this madness. My heart aches for those parents and children who are shoving this ideas to little kids.

Isn’t it better to send your child to a religious school ? Not a strict one, maybe a Christian one? I went to a church school even though I was not Christian at the time, and I was never exposed to lgbt media or forced to convert. Homeschooling does make your child miss out on a lot. Like the core memories, experiences your child will in school.
@emmiller5451
@emmiller5451 Жыл бұрын
@@ShahrukhKhan_OfficialYT not all homeschooled kids missing out socializing. It depends on what parents prioritize the kids time to spend school and extra activities. For example they joined girls scouts, and played instruments and later joined a choir. They don't need to be in a Christian school, homeschool is fine as long as the parents are organized and plan the whole activities after school hours. Socializing aspect spending time with relatives and friends so kids are not really missing out on that area.

@allieannette3712 It partly is, mainly because most people on the right just want the truth to be known and the left is fighting them because they have a woke agenda and want to spread lies. Ofc not all of them. The wokeness is for example, " Boys can have babies", "A heartbeat isn't an indicator of life", "Hamas isn't a terrorist group that wants to commit genocide of the Jewish people around the world." "Men can compete with women in sports and still be fair", etc.

I'm not being disingenuous at all. The wide spectrum of which people use for 'woke' is astounding and the fact that NOONE who ever uses this word can actually define what it is is very telling. Edit: when liberals use it, they just mean to be informed and conscious about social injustice. That is almost never the way conservatives use it, similar to their usage of socialist and communist, which is hilariously used interchangeably for people and policies they don't agree with.@@BradLeroy

My generation (I am the last of Gen X) was very proud to have no labels. We fought for that in the 90s. Before that, Bowie, Mercury, Tilda Swinton and so many more all did their thing without a label. Guys wore dresses, girls climbed trees and went into the army and ppl cheered. Now they'll get labeled... It very restrictive, so don't be fooled, Sophia! Stay yourself, do your thing and do NOT let yourself be labeled. It's regressive, right back into the 50s (only warped;-).

Im 30. I don't really care if people are right or left-leaning. It's just reassuring that we are starting once again to enjoy the edgy bill burresque humor. The radically progressive left wanted to eradicate all edgy humor because "muh feelingz". I would enjoy them beeing right-leaning, but in the end just as Brett said in the video: that's not the point. The point is that the society should stop treating everything so damn seriously. Offing oneself because someone said he doesn't acknowledge someone's "cat gender" is the epitome of "chronically online" as gen Z calls it. In the end you can't ever be happy if your identity depends on others. For me one has to be psychically "self-sufficient" to interact with other people, because on average people have their own businesses to mind to bother with yours.

It's so easy to envy others who have what you may not, but just because someone is wealthy doesn't mean their life is perfect or vice versa. I am sorry that you have experienced things that made you feel that way, you deffintely should never feel bad for being rich OR poor. It is the choices you make, the way you act, how you treat people, whether or not you keep your word, or behaving in a true and honest manner that reveals a person's character. That's why I can say that from your comment alone, you are a good person, with a good heart. I hope you don't doubt that again. Wishing you all the best!
