She got told constantly why are you with him, you should break up with him as you are young and should be having fun etc etc. I’m sure you have heard the same or worse. It turned around come 30ish when the majority had been in toxic relationships after toxic relationship , dealing with men that where bad for them. A number of them left questioning there worth and kinda broken. Then it all became I wish I could find someone, I wish I had a relationship like yours, you are so lucky you found someone like your guy etc etc. As a guy watching it all from the sidelines it was kinda sad. My mates wife has some amazing female friends, they aren’t bad women. They was just given bad advice and it played out poorly for them. Some turned it around in there 30s but damm they had some shocking relationships and experiences they didn’t need to. A good number also didn’t turn it around and remain single. So guess I’m just saying live your best life and don’t worry about advice from people with no life experience yet. Often it comes from jealousy or in this case the lack of experience to know better. Life sorts it all out in the end.

Even after we got married, for years I thought I needed to still be around 50% tomboyish because we have 2 boys together and I thought somehow this would help our sons (I have NO idea why I thought this!). It wasn't until 22 years into our marriage (going on the last 2 years now) that I realized how I was actually still shortchanging myself, my husband, and our sons by not being fully true to my femininity. Since I've started fully embracing my femininity, all three of them are happier, and so am I. This now allows my boys to really lean into becoming young men bonding with their dad (instead of me horning in on their "guy projects" like for instance the taxing physical labor stuff that comes with home ownership). And I can stop physically wearing myself out so much (and sometimes even getting injured) needlessly...a big plus when you hit mid life with an autoimmune disorder. I am still struggling with the guilt of not stepping in to help with everything like I used to though. So it's a work in progress.

It gives me " No one wants to marry or commit to me because of my emotional immaturity and instability". Obviously these women think men only want women for sex and kinks. There's more to a women's existence then being a dirty, sexual thought in a man's brain. And what you don't think you'll become boring at some point or when your looks fade and you having nothing else to provide for the relationship. News flash, there will always be attractive women, you're not the only one out there. And if you think you can take someone's husband then you're just a loser who's constantly seeks validation.

Exactly! Same experience! I married at 21, and it helped me a lot to be a better version of me to be braver, and to enhance my life in general. Some people are unhappy in their marriages but that is not the norm. I feel people who are unhappy instead of trying to pursue happiness they label as " bad" the things that didnt work for them. That is a big mistake because then they block for themselves the path to achieve it. We all have failures and bad moments, I had failures in different areas of my life, but I could accept it and keep trying. I had that single life until I was 25. I traveled, I read and knitted, I cooked and worked out, I had a career I loved and lived a very quiet life. I didn’t party or sleep around though not my style. But it was so unbelievably lonely. It was so lonely it would physically hurt. I had a few friends and coworkers but at night no one was there but me. Then I met my husband. And I knew that day I was going to marry him. He was everything I had ever wanted. And we clicked. Call it soul mates or Gods will but he was made for me and I for him. Now my life is loud with 3 kids to look after, I don’t travel I read on the occasion, I still knit and took up crocheting and I quit my job. But I am so unbelievably happy. Yes there have been days I have wanted to give up, things get hard But there are just as many days that have been laughter and fun and beauty. My husband has been there through all of it. He held me when I cried and I held him when he did. We went through it all together and I don’t have this piece missing anymore. Those other things I no longer have or do I don’t miss. The poem is in a way looking down on married life and telling her spouse “I love you but I’d rather be off living my best life without you”. It’s ok if single life is your thing but not everyone wants that and shouldn’t be put down or shamed for it. And married life shouldn’t always be regarded as a mistake or a regret. I'm pretty happy being a Mad Spinster Aunt! But I'm 37, and I do get questioned a lot, people asking why I'm single, what my body count is, and commenting that my standard in men must be too high or that I must be an awful person if I'm still single. Then, when they find out I've never had anyone, they really look at me weird. The simple truth is that there was one man I thought was the one, and he died. And since then, I've simply never wanted the empty life these women have. I'm not interested in going to go through men like they're underwear! Unless I find Mr.. Right, I'll just continue to embrace the spinster life.

I was the one paying for that night so he slides the check over after seeing the number and just laughs. I see it and laugh too. I then respond “thanks but I’m not into girls and I’m married.” The girl was SO pissed and my husband just glared at the waitress while she came back to take the card. I just want to say that being stoic isn't a toxic thing, it's mostly confused as being emotionless but is actually about being in control and understanding your emotions as to not let them run your life/decisions.

Bingo. Stoicism was neccessary for large portions of mens lives in past ages. Feminism coopted the concept and renamed it emotional intelligence, while claiming women are more emotionally intelligent (they base this not on how they control their emotions mind you, They just believe they understand emotions better)

The backlash is just another feminist jibe. Basically, they try to characterize emotional control as “emotional suppression”. Of course, this volcano of subdued emotion will “explode” in violence. This suggests that men can’t release stress and anxiety in a variety of healthy ways, like at the gym. They keep trying to get under the skin of men, and they keep failing.

I think a big issue involving this subject is that, there isn't really a clear or safe way for people who see this problem and wish to oppose it or just discus and talk to others with similar views. As for things like twitter it's usually overtaken by some form of covering it up as something else or ignoring it or just drowning it out. I've seen thousands of people who are concerned about this and wish to do something but can't because it's no longer an option or viable to group together and stand with each other without being target in which just causes those who do try to attempt be an example to scare those who might think of doing so.

@Madelynn DeJarlais I think the world preaches such a pack of lies to young women these days. ALL my friends tried the hookup culture when I was a kid. I had my opportunities but my parents were very kind and conservative and always gave me time and things to do so I just never fell into it. By the time I was 25 I had not one friend that wasn't on some kind of pill for anxiety, depression, and also birth control with no prospects in life while I was enjoying running marathons, skydiving, long haul backpacking in Alaska (where I had moved) and working as a registered nurse. I met a sweet Alaskan man and we got married and now have 4 kids and a busy, difficult, adventure filled dream life. I wish so many of my childhood friends had not listened to the culture... some of them died by suicide, others are just a nonstop list of complaints about exes and the kids they are trying to co parent with deadbeats while also being deadbeats! It's so sad.

I'm thankful for the more traditional women I have met over the years and those women, including my current partner, are appreciative and thriving because they found the right man and aren't bitter. Happy people don't complain or brag, those who are broken and desperate are the ones who need to put up a facade or complain to be happy. Piece of advice - if a past love interest reaches out to you out of the blue a decade or two later - stay away and leave the past alone - whether they are married or not, it is not a good idea to reconnect in at all. In my experience it is better to remember them the way they were and leave it alone. I don't want to sound in any way like the horrible women in the video, but I have had the experience with these married men reaching out and I don't like it. I just ignore and move on. I know they must have issues and just want a distraction, which has nothing to do with me personally.

I absolutely agree with your points but I think as women when we get into a relationship we do tend to forget about ourselves and our needs and often prioritise the needs of other over our own, which is why we overlooked our needs in a relationship and give more attention and care towards the other person(man). Ofc it is wrong to completely forget your ownself but sometimes you do make these mistakes and again blame a man for it who is not exactly at fault here cause we do make these mistakes ourselves.

No. I aspire to be all those things & ironically what women fail to realize anymore is by being these qualities - we - I run by household - because my husband has likewise respect for me because I respect him! Women now think they deserve a man who makes six figures and all these other list of demands they have in their heads without considering if she is what any man would want. Women don't act like wifes but expect to find men who act like perfect husband. " Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free"
