My grandfather had a 50 acre farm in Carrollton, GA. when I was growing up. He raised Angus beef, hogs and was a commercial chicken grower in addition to having his own free range flocks. He died in the late 1980's at 100 years old and would be appalled at what has happened to this state. The national health tanked once the government became involved. I have raised chickens for over 20 years (after a career as an Air Force family) and I WILL NOT allow gov't inspectors on my property. I ask their permission for NOTHING. I pay cash in all feed stores, never have given my name to any of them because gov't officials take the records from those stores (one told me as much). Though I have been a breeder of fine rare breeds, I refuse to be NPIP certified because it's a crock. My very healthy chickens are only in my own food supply though I have sold hatching eggs and extra chicks from time to time. Big Daddy has no business in my barnyard. Everyone in GA government is bought and paid for. Self-sufficiency is the enemy of government, always will be. When you ask government's permission to do anything, there are always strings attached. They can't control what they don't monitor and that is the whole point to this, control. What they REALLY want is to run you out of business, my friend.Good luck. ~Cynthia, N. GA mountains

Maybe the people there have made some progress, but the WEF and globalist cabal control most of the money in the world, and money still rules. Politicians and activist groups all over the world are greedy for that money, and they will do the globalists bidding to get it.

I am a “farmer” and they aren’t trying to shut us down. We just lack the wherewithal to recognize the signs. Row cropping - we complain about prices and smaller margins. However, the retailers and chemical company’s post profits year after year. Check out the Croplife 100 for data. Farming done right is profitable. GA is not a supportive state for AG despite what is said. I’ve lived I. Multiple southern states and owned a farm in 2 different states. GA is far behind when it comes to supporting a true farmer. Now, URBAN AG, and the little niche’ markets that are cute and fuzzy, oh, GA is where you need to be.
@tillmanfamilyfarm7759Ай бұрын
@@BrianC-jr1lf they don’t support the small farmers at all. Most of the markets we sell meat at have veggie vendors that are driving to Florida every week and picking up stuff from greenhouses and reselling. We still have some older folks that grow a traditional market garden and sell from that for few extra dollars. There’s a ton wrong with our food system. It all started in the 50’s. Head over to Alabama and find some land. We have a gentleman's farm in Coosa County, up near Alex City. GA is going crazy. I live in Muscogee County, so Hold My Beer. I wonder how they would feel about that streak-o-lean I put up yesterday? I've got a fridge full of lard as well. I'm going to need a couple of feeder pigs pretty soon, so I checked with my feed store, and Hog Grower is like $19? We can't put tilapia in our pond, but in Alabama, we can. They are invasive, but they can't live if the water temps reach 54, so they won't survive more than a year in Georgia. It's a basically free food source that isn't allowed for some reason. I can't shoot a deer at our property in Alabama and bring it to my house in Georgia to process because CWD has been found in NW Alabama. They're scared hunters will bring the disease to Georgia in the back of our trucks. Seems reasonable ... until you actually think about it. I'd be willing to bet that 2,000 deer a day swim across the Chattahoochee river, from Alabama to Georgia, and that's the southern part of the state. In the northern half, just north of where you live, the deer can't cross state lines because they know it's illegal to cross that invisible boundary? Politicians do what politicians do. I spent 30 years working in agriculture for a large, family owned company. The amount of red tape and the infrastructure needed in order to grow and sell vegetables was astronomical. Food Safety, Legal, etc, were departments that had to be fully staffed. I guess Tyson and Cagle decided that if they had to pay a lab person, then so should you.

It’s like you took the words right out of my mouth. I tried a couple of years ago to make a go at pastured poultry. We ended up having to use the processor in Atlanta and driving the 2 hours. However, to haul the newly processed poultry that you intend to sell, you now need a mobile meat license, which I got. This requires you to keep your meat in freezers at all times including while traveling. They did a decent job but it was very difficult to then market chicken for those increased prices in an area where choosing healthy foods isn’t a top priority. I think you could make decent money near Atlanta but anywhere else is gonna be hit or miss. Needless to say I am in the process of shifting to lamb and pork. I loved pasturing the birds but I don’t see how I can make it work.
@tillmanfamilyfarm7759Ай бұрын
You can’t in Georgia. We’ve got all those licenses. You can get away with a trailer, generator and and some chest freezers. But how in the hell do you hit farmers markets that way. All the cottage kitchen laws are broken there🤣 from canning, baking, giving out samples, honey nothing is ever checked. Hell we are even supposed to be under a mobile meat license. But there we use coolers with dry ice packs. Which works great! Even on 100 degree days things in the coolers never even start to thaw. It only runs to 12 so we’re never there long. But nothing ever gets checked there. Now you set up at the market in downtown Columbus Ga? They come to check all your license if you charging tax right and all sorts of stuff. The city run off half the people at that one. Sad.

Yeah the bad thing is they won’t say we can’t do it anymore. They say they want us to do it “Right”. In other words their way. So composting for example. They would rather you have a company come pick up and dispose of unused animal remains. But you can compost. You have to build something to compost in that meets the “requirements”. Measure internal temperature of the composting material daily. File reports on those records. They act like something has changed about compost over the last, I don’t know million years or so??? I don't want the federal government to have control over food production, in particular. That's wrong. However, I want the Fed to encourage better farming, gardening etc, as each state wants it to happen. This give us, the ordinary people, a chance to speak up where our voices aren't lost, if that makes sense. We can reset this. Pray.

@@anthonydooley3616 I called Mr Harris for advice when all this started. He and I were on the phone about an hour. He holds a 20,000 bird exemption. He built a facility to handle that with a hired staff. All we had was a 1000 bird exemption. Major difference. We have no staff. All family. Our name going on the package. My name!! If there was any little thing that didn’t even look right to me, no label and it went in our personal freezer. That’s with all our products. The farmer gets all the ugly stuff. The stained eggs, the busted vacuum sealed products anything! The customer always gets the best of the best. When someone opens one of my packages with my name on it all I want them to see is quality. But nooooo we don’t have enough building or records to do this anymore.

I’m not sure the best way to get in touch with him, but if we can make RFK Jr. aware of this, I think he’s our best chance at getting real policy changes. If Trump gets elected, I’m not sure how much time he’ll be able to address to these type things, but that’s exactly what RFK Jr.’s role in Trump’s administration will be. If you’re not already familiar with RFK, listen to him on various podcasts and read his bio on his website. Mainstream media has come up with all sorts of crazy lies about him, making him look like a lunatic. The actual facts, though, are very impressive. Just knowing he’s successfully sued almost every govt agency is reason to be impressed, haha. Also, Dr. Casey Means and her brother (can’t think of his name) are advising both Trump and RFK Jr. It’s definitely worth making them aware of these ridiculous policies, too. Good luck! As a fellow Georgian, I’d love to be able to buy from you!

I had to sale my property in Lagrange due to the zoning restrictions imposed on my 10 acres on West Point Lake . Georgia has fallen to the Liberal s communist controls. Nope, county code enforcement carrying a badge and a gun . Thing is there was an old covenant that was over 35 years old but it was not active. The code enforcement guy trespassed on my property and snapped a pic of a utility building and said I didn’t have a permit. It was already on the property when I purchased it. I had to give them $175 dollars.
