Like you say, it's so hard to catch when not fully into the Ghetts choppy, erratic Ghetto character... I love the "Patience, nah I ain't a waiter and if I was, I'd poison you" line. Patient, wait & poise?! Whew! Also, pretty sure Choice FM was a radio station good for the scene and it was replaced by Capital Extra, which is more mainstream. The kettle bar is cockney rhyming stand. A kettle is a watch. Basically the rhyming slang is kettle and hob, the second word is the word you don’t say but rhymes with the word your referring to, if you know the slang you know the word. In the case an old watch was called a fob watch. So kettle and hob, hob rhymes with fob... Another example would be ‘ let me take a butchers at that’ the rhyming slang is butchers hook, hook rhymes with look. So what the phrase is actually saying is “let me take a look at that”. How it started is unclear, some suggest a rhyming game between friend, others suggest to confuse non locals. But it started in East London hence why it features in the Grime scene.
