Noah is 100% on point with the television sponsorship point. Not only will it benefit him but it will also benefit the sport. Noah is undeniably elevating the sport despite the hate he’s getting. It’s time for track and field athletes and track and field in particular move to the next level. Nike, USATF and USOC has shackled the athletes. Time to elevate and get that 💰. Cone together like Fred is saying and market yourselves and market your sport. If you don’t value yourselves, no one else will value you.

Especially because (from australia) many young and coming athletes drop out of the proverbial race. Because what's the point. Imagine a 17yo knowing they could $50k at the end of the season. Thank you Noah Lyle's for your effort, keep the energy going young man.

Those who have met Gout Gout all say what a great kid he is, well-balanced in his outlook, and liked by everyone who meets him. The last post I saw about him is that he's been going to little athletics groups and talking to the kids and giving back his time and experience. He belongs to a local Queensland training group and is trained by the same female couch who discovered his talent as a 13 year old. His agent is James Templeman who was probably responsible for the Adidas deal after World U20 champs.

The crazy thing is that Red Bull has already figured out Field with Mondo. They could corner the market on that, and he could lead the charge. I think the issue is that we keep looking to the U.S. to save the sport when it's clearly more popular overseas, and we need to leverage that celebrity and reach more.

The record he took recently in the 200 meters was held by the man who ran second at Mexico between Tommy Smith and John Carlos, the famous black glove protest on the podium following the medal presentation! This guy, Peter Norman remained loyal to his friends and despite qualifying somehow never represented Australia again! He remained good friends with the two great Americans all of his life …and in death they flew to Australia to bear his coffin to the grave!

Instead of attacking Michael, they could have approached him privately and become a part of his organization to get field events added for next season. It's really difficult to popularize and/or commercialize certain sports. And unless you're trying to create an event similar to the NBA All-Star weekend, I don't think "jumping the length of a bus" is the way to go about it. There are just certain sports that appeal to human nature, which make them significantly more entertaining without being made a spectacle. Events like Long Jump, Javelin etc. will never be as exciting as track events. As an athletics fan, there are events that I follow passively simply because there's a particular athlete or a rivalry that interests me. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't watch those events at all. I think the draw for me in those cases is the athlete's story. Otherwise, I will always watch my favourite events, no matter who's competing.

I definitely disagree with MJ and I'm dissapointed with the comments made by him. MJ's comment for me felt like an attack on the field events especially when there have been so many incentives to help or showcase or promote track exclusively but very little for field events. Documentaries & Shows like "Sprint", GST, Athlos, World Relays, World Ultimate Championships etc, all these things have been implemented or created to display running and sprint events while field events are either cut out or partially included. For so long, track and field has prioritised track events and made it the bride and the field events the bridesmaid again and again and again from the way coverage is done to the money at certain events to the commercials of individual athletes to the sponsorship money and promotion those athletes get etc. For once, I would like World Athletics to prioritise on the field events and give them the better coverage and promotion it deserves. Better scheduling to allow more moments on the field events instead of battling with the short track events from the 100m to 1500m for example. Whilst I do agree that having a legend from the field events should invent a competition or series to platform field events, who exactly will invest and how much will they be offering for the athletes? Because given the current climate and how field events are treated, I don't know if the prize money from an event like this will ever be similarly or larger than a GST or a Diamond League. There has to be a motive by World Athletics, sponsors and general people in the sport as a whole to give the field events a better chance so everyone can shine and win, not just the track events.

@TheWayWithKhuwayne
@TheWayWithKhuwayne Ай бұрын
@afrobuddy4801 That's some people. Others won't care if the coverage is inconsistent, if they can't see the athletes or the event unfolding. If you can't see something or don't see enough of it, of course people won't care for it. 🤷🏾‍♂️
@kpat3052
@kpat3052 Ай бұрын
@TheWayWithKhuwayne you made a ridiculously long post. Field says they don't need track to save it, but yet here you advocate for track to save it. They need to do it for themselves and stop putting down Michael for what he is trying to do because they got left out. People simply just don't watch field as much. That's a fact. People in field events need to get out and try and change that. They are the only ones who can do it.
@TheWayWithKhuwayne
@TheWayWithKhuwayne Ай бұрын
@kpat3052 Firstly, the Woodhalls said that comment not field collectively. Secondly, the reason they don't watch the events enough is because the coverage is weak and the promotion of those athletes is poor. If they can't see it, they won't care enough to watch it. Let's face it, field events need better promotion and coverage than track does right now and they aren't getting it. Instead they are being pushed to the side to promote new leagues and events that either have few field events or none at all. I made my long comment, and I'll do it again because I'm passionate about this.
@kpat3052
@kpat3052 Ай бұрын
@@TheWayWithKhuwayne I used field collectively because others have made similar statements in support of the Woodhalls. I will be honest, I was never interested in field. I ran track. Recently, I saw Mondo, and Tara, and Crouser and I started to seek it out more. The coverage is there as much as it can, but as with track, you have to intentionally seek it out. The sport as a whole is very undercovered in the US, but I did see Peacock making the effort. They covered all the field events simultaneously with track at Diamond League events. That was nice to see. And KZbin has it all. To get a greater audience, the stars are going to have to start stepping up the Noah, Michael, ShaCarri, Tebogo and others have started to do to bring attention to it. Tara needs to put some action behind that big mouth of hers. She isn't helping.

Usain Bolt BARELY has the fastest recorded top speed ever by almost the slimmest of margins vs several former world class sprinters. Bolt 0.81 10m split is slightly faster than Maurice Green 0.83 & 3 other world class sprinters. Maurice is under the same terms as Bolt, negative drug test results although even doe that’s doesn’t mean they didn’t use bcuz u can come off which has carryover around the time testing occurs. What separates Bolt 9.58 vs Yohan Blake or Gay is ONLY the fact that he holds his speed at a higher velocity. The rest have a more decline top speed so Bolt speed endurance is better. He is a half a foot taller than Maurice Green but only .02 faster 10m split and Green ran that at least twice in 99 & 01. That proves being taller isn’t an advantage and u don’t know who was closer to maximize their potential. Mo could have been higher than Bolt & if that’s the case for ex than it just mean Bolt came closer to maximizing his top speed than Maurice Green.. once again the top speed difference of .02 is only just barley a half a mile faster so they both ran 27mph, bolt was just on the higher end. In other words,in 8 years age 24 GOUT GOUT who is taller than Green & may grow another 2-3 inches can be the fastest ever. He on pace right now
