Haddington is such a nice country town full of nice little old ladies and lovely second hand shops, hardly ever any trouble there, one of my favourite places.

Good effort big man. Think you captured the Tory side of Haddington. Which looks lovely. What about the reality of real life which is frozen regards regeneration under the fanciful SNP.

Oi, oi, oi, Kilted Cyclist! You missed "Tom's Midnight Garden" next to St Mary's! This is a fine Victorian walled public garden, obviously best seen in spring and summer. It has a rose mound, from the top of which you can view the neighbouring churchyard, and it has a beautiful arcade - a path over which the branches of trees have been trained to form a green tunnel. You also missed the wonderful river walk around St Mary's to the parkland on the western side of Haddington, with its grand old trees and lawn down to the river, plus the old mill building at the town's western entrance. Things you should know: 1. The prices of houses and apartments along East Lothian's shore are now shockingly high. You get astonishingly little for your money in places such as Gullane, Dirleton, and especially North Berwick. Haddington is much cheaper, and within very easy distance of East Lothian's wonderful shoreline, plus its other quaint towns and diverse attractions. (Tantallon Castle, Hailes Castle, Chesters Iron Age Fort, Garvald, Gifford, at least five links golf courses, great beaches, the John Muir Coastal Trail, historic Traprain Law, East Fortune Museum of Flight etc.) 2. It is practical to commute from Haddington to Edinburgh. 3. East Lothian is a fantastic place for cross-country cycling. I know, because I did it. The hills provide some challenge without being overwhelming, and you will see beautiful scenery. Haddington is the perfect, affordable base for a summer cycling holiday, visiting all of East Lothian's attractions. If your joints are creaking, an e-bike will do the job. There are some great places to stop for a bite and a cuppa, such as East Linton. (East Lothian is also good for horse riding, offering some nice hacks.) 4. Don't forget Dunbar while you're in the area! The neighouring beach is huge - you've got to see it to believe it! It has a great golf course, (obviously!), and a picturesque little harbour, the entrance of which is guarded by the evocative ruins of yet another castle. Dunbar was John Muir's boyhood town, and also the home of one of the co-inventors of the modern marine propeller. You can easily cycle there from Haddington.

Thanks William i cant include everything, but I did enjoy my trip to Haddington. I filmed Dunbar and eyemouth too. My wee channel is just like a tester pot of Scotland, showing you a glimpse of what is on offer, hopefully people will be encouraged to visit the Lothians, cheers g.
