Fortnite nerfed aim assist and it really balanced the game. I believe this game needs to do the same. i've been controller for about 15 years. I also play kbm. as a player who plays both inputs, i definitely agree that this game needs an aim assist nerf.

Yeah, I have tested with the two inputs, I win more battles in close range by using the controller

Man I never even considered how hitscan would make aim assist even more broken. Good video.

apex is the most balanced controller vs mnk experience. Aim assist is nonexistent but is there for those microadjustments. Halo is just too scared to nerf aim assist because controller players cry about it when its nerfed and actually have to use raw skill to aim.

With the mouse & keyboard aiming being so differently handled from controller pad aiming, do you see any issues coming from 343's planned crossplay between Xbox and PC? Personally, I don't see it being too big of an issue on Coop campaign and firefight, but I do think it could be a problem on the competitive multiplayer front.
@CR0WYT4 жыл бұрын
Cross play in general is a wonderful idea I support, but 343’s vision is having the two platforms compete against one another in a balanced state. That is an impossible goal that is hurting the production of MCC PC and other games with that goal. If Epic Games, a company with experience with PC ports, can’t find a way to balance controllers and KB&M, I highly doubt 343 will.

I don't get what the big deal is. Playing on controller on my pc for halo 3 vs on my old 360 I can't tell a damn bit of difference. There is aim assist in the original halo 3 iirc. Is the issue just that they don't have it for k+m?
@maximdrake3 жыл бұрын
yes
@CR0WYT3 жыл бұрын
The big deal is that the MCC on PC was supposed to be a PC first console second experience promised by 343, but it’s been the polar opposite so far with aim assist levels through the roof rendering KB&M useless.
@ryuseioh35073 жыл бұрын
there's much more aim assist on pc than on 360 bro.
@CR0WYT3 жыл бұрын
@@ryuseioh3507 Technically, it's the same amount, but it's definitely too much when paired with the high frame rate support.
@ryuseioh35073 жыл бұрын
@@CR0WYT well game developers continue to implement this kbm vs controller imbalance into many of their games. red dead redemption 2 is much more extreme than halo.
@ryuseioh35074 жыл бұрын
another key point u forgot to mention is that halo 2 both c and A have much faster&sporatic strafe speeds which makes tracking with a mouse notoriously difficult. halo 3 for the most part is slow paced hence more kb&m friendly
@br0thax3 жыл бұрын
No is not, is better when the characters are faster cause you can break the auto aim by strafing side by side. Halo reach is the slowest among all of these games and yet it has the best advantage for controller players
@ryuseioh35073 жыл бұрын
bruh halo 2 esp halo 2 A has one of the strongest aim assists in all of halo the strafe speed doesn't really mean much when the assist is that strong add to the fact it's very hard to track with mouse. all in all it's a lose lose scenario for mouse
@CR0WYT3 жыл бұрын
Before both of you kill each other, both Halo 2 and Reach were controller dominant mainly because they were hitscan with a high ttk. Yes, movement does have a factor, but none of the Halos’ movements would’ve benefitted KB&M players. The game either needs to be slow movement with a low ttk or really fast moment (such as quake) with a high ttk. Having a game with aim assist, slow movement, and a high ttk benefits controller players since it gives them time to turn around and lock onto their opponents instead of something like CS:GO where fights can end in less than half a second with a simple click.
@br0thax3 жыл бұрын
@@CR0WYT You have to play more Halo MCC PC, I was so much more dominant in Halo 2 and Halo 1 as they're histcan, since the game pace is faster as well. I played PC FPS for almost 10 years, including CSGO, UT, Quake, TF2, Titanfall, my aim is very good tbh, and there were situations where I get shitstroyed in Halo 3 and Halo Reach more times than it could happen in Halo 1 and 2. But overall, I agree with you, aim assist is no matter which halo game, really strong that really benefits all the controller players.
@CR0WYT3 жыл бұрын
@@br0thax I've played an unhealthy amount of Halo on PC even before MCC. I even participated in DreamHack Anaheim's tournaments in 2020. I'm not saying aiming with a KB&M isn't possible, but if you're trying to play these games in a serious environment like I was, a controller is a necessity, which is really unfortunate considering how 343 promised a "first-class experience on PC" when they've done the exact opposite so far.
@Mawa9914 жыл бұрын
I agree and disagree. Halo 3 works better with mouse and keyboard, but because the netcode is totally broken, I doubt that your "shot leading" point is valid. It is a mess. Long range fights are much more a battle of who looses less bullets in the code. Iam from Europe, so I have the feeling its even worse. Standoff for example, is unplayable for me as I cant hit people across the map. I would really like to know if this is due to mouse and keyboard... The next thing: I can't hit a single shot with the Halo 3 sniper. Its just impossible. I can snipe in Halo 1, 2, 2A, Reach, but Halo 3 just doesnt work. But there are people who pull one headshot after the other... That must be the aim assist, and it makes sense: the bullets fly so fast, that the aim assist does its job in most of the times. Leading not necessary. So I would argue, Halo 3 introduces another problem: Some weapons are strongly effected by aim assist, while others are not. And thats just complete fucked. Iam a Halo fan since CE. I only own a PC now. But like this, its just pointless. And I dont want to buy a controller just for Halo.
@CR0WYT4 жыл бұрын
We’ll have to see how things go when the ODST update releases.
@8beef4u4 жыл бұрын
As for the halo 3 snipes, that's probably just because almost everyone who plays was a legit 50 back in the day. I know what you mean about the constant snipes and that's exactly how it used to be in team snipers in the 45-50 tier games. I think mouse and keyboard players are blowing aim assist out of proportion in halo 3 when really it's just that the majority of the controller players were vets from the old game.
@Mawa9914 жыл бұрын
@@8beef4u You might be right, that a lot of level 50 players are active now. But, the point I want to make is: This is a PC game. A PC game! So it should feel like a fucking PC game. What is the point bringing MCC to PC if the players just switch platforms? Thats pointless. Now, with the new update you can see how many players play mouse and keyboard. I would say its under 5%. So this MCC PC idea was a huge waste of time and resources for nothing. If it had been done correctly, de game would feel different on PC - time to kill would be higher, the game more dynamic because its harder to track players without aim assist. But like it is now, its just a Xbox game that happens to run on a PC. Bullshit.
