You want more T Rex? They were the best selling band in the UK from 1971-1974. Lead guitarist and vocalist, Marc Bolan, practically invented glitter/glam rock. Check out these other T Rex songs: 20th Century Boy; Metal Guru; Telegram Sam; Cosmic Dancer; Rabbit Fighter; Rock On; Mambo Sun; Hot Love, Jeepster; Slider and lots more

Gold Lamé Trousers-sparkly/shiny outfits were very much the rage in Europe back then & were very common in the glam rock scene-Roxy Music, Slade, Bowie etc.

You got it bang on he definitely always had it going on BIG TIME - early 70s in the U.K. he was bigger than anyone and pretty much started the British glam rock phenomenon. Loads more to check out.

Good evening ladies. If you didn'ti know there is a TV performance of the TRex song called Bang a Gong ( Get it On ) on Video. It features Trex and Elton John on Piano. It is from 1971 and its on a program called Top of the Pops. Best Wishes 😊

There is also a video of Children of the Revolution with Elton John on piano and Ringo Starr is on the drums.

I saved my pocket money for a long time to go to a concert a year later in 1972. When it started I wasn't so keen on T.Rex anymore but I went anyway and was excited by this really cool opening act and it was "Status Quo" and they played one of their first hits "Tune to the Music" and that blew me away. You can tell from my bad english language that I'm from Hamburg/Germany but it is what it is. T.Rex and David Bowie were the founders of (then so called glimring) or glittery rock music.

Marc never penetrated the US but in Britain (and Europe) he became a superstar. 14 million records in a couple of years is not to be sniffed at. And he was a prime motivator for David Bowie.

Is she BLIND? Of course he has pants (trousers) on! This was the era of Glam Rock where artists wore flamboyant clothes on stage - so his trousers are gold coloured.
