I know a woman who hears voices but she's a spiritual healer and she says they're just spirits. She also does energy work, and as skeptical as I am about things like this, I have to say it was pretty effective in alleviating my depression temporarily when I had a session, so hey, if this helps people and the voices help guide her towards the right things (in the way my strong intuition does for me), I'm not gonna knock it.

I’m happy you mentioned hearing voices when falling asleep or waking up. I’ve had experiences in both scenarios where I hear two people conversing in words that I feel I’m not thinking (obviously I am because there isn’t two people talking in my room when I fall asleep). I’ve also heard someone singing a random song when I’ve woken up before-fully composed, lyrics, etc doesn’t even sound remotely similar to a song I’ve heard. I do have bad insomnia. i have to take medication for it a few times a week. Ironically none of these experiences have overlapped when I’m taking the medication but it could just be my poor brain going haywire. 🤷🏻‍♀️ the hallucinations only last a few minutes but it’s shocking every time it happens.

This sounds like what I have experienced, I too have struggled with insomnia for over 20 years and take medication. I have woken up and heard a scary voice whispering to me saying my name and even stupid things like “Louise remember to take your iron pills”. I get very scared and can’t go back to sleep. It's only in the last four years that I've experienced hypnagogic hallucinations. I don't find them too bothersome. Most instances are voices saying hello or asking "who are you? ". Or songs in other languages, loud yells, hollers or just odd sounds. The voices are always different. Some are with accents and vary in "sound quality" - meaning, very clear, distorted or muffled.I rest with ear defenders on at night as I sleep lightly and don't pick up outside noise. What I find most interesting is it's most always deep in one ear, never in both. My sleeps are an adventure almost every night to say the least. I found your video(s) incredibly informative, clear and concise. That is helpful for a layman such as myself. I've subscribed and look forward to more content! Thank you. Ray Vancouver, BC

HI Tracey: So glad I found ur channel. U are EXCELLENT ✔ QUESTION ? Can u Please describe "Sundown Syndrome" ? ? A Dr. diagnosis a family member as "Bi-polar" and possible dementia. Another family member ADAMANTLY refused to accept that diagnosis of patient & stated-- (No way, u just dont happen to be bi-polar after several yrs of not having any visible signs). & patient is 64yrs old. Another Neurologist Dr. mentioned that it possibly COULD be 《Sundown Syndrome》🤔. & he, Neurologocal Doc is now planning on doing a Neurological 3 hr. test next week 11/20/20. The patient had several pouts of hospital stays throughout her life (approx 4) bec of manic type of behavior/anxiety issues & I believe some depression. As 4 me, I might think its sundown syndrome rather than Bi- polor or even dementia as a Doc also said it maybe signs of Dementia too. Lastly, She did not EVEN have an MRI done in her last 3 hospital stays. Tracey, CAN U PLEASE HELP ME OUT W/THIS ? THANK U.

So informative! I’ve never been worried about being clinical, but I knew the “voices” I sometimes would hear before I was falling asleep was due to my lack of sleep, because the only time I would hear them was after I hadn’t slept in 2 or 3 days...My first episode on my podcast is going to be over mental health after I did a poll on certain topics, I had an overwhelming amount of people vote on it, and I’m excited to interview people from their prospective, your channel really inspired me to get a much better perspective on human psychology, and letting people who are so misunderstood be heard. I was diagnosed with D.I.D(dissociative identity disorder, better known as multiple personality disorder)a few months ago and this is what I've learned when it comes to voices...It's normal to hear your OWN voice when it comes to decision making or your opinion but what's not"normal" is hearing several(in my case 8) different voices all with different opinions, views, thoughts and conclusions all in different tone voices. Also connecting a person or face to the voices isnt"normal" or common either.Ive always had these other parts of me so I never thought I"heard voices" lol! When doctors would ask me if I heard voices I'd say"God no,and if I did I'd be at a church somewhere praying😉" but what the doctor should have said that MIGHT have caught it sooner was,"Do you ever hear voices OUTSIDE of your head(or OUT LOUD) or SEVERAL DIFFERENT types of voices besides your own INSIDE your head when weighing out decisions etc?"Maybe a doctor will read this someday and use it to help their patient💞BTW,no we do not hurt people,we are not dangerous lol.. as a matter of fact we are more prone to be the one to have an act of violence committed against us,than to be the one doing the violence against another 😘If anyone has any questions feel free to ask willefordken at Yahoo dot com🧑👩‍⚖️👩‍🏫👩‍🔧👸🧕🕴️💃

Hypnagogic and hypnopompic. Thanks for introducing these terms, because I have experienced hypnagogic voices once or twice in my life. It is reassuring to know what those were. And thanks for digressing into Sleep Paralysis, because I used to get that regularly, and it was indeed during stressful times as well as those irregular sleep periods I was so proud of (I was self-employed and met every deadline ever tossed my way, but finally realized I was destroying my health, so I changed my ways).

A fascinating subject and experience. Thank you for discussing this. I have experienced such phenomena particularly during extreme periods of distress. My most memorable event was after the brutal death of my younger sister. (we were very close) Exhausted after 12 months of denying the impact through, self abuse of isolation, alcohol and regret. I stopped and sought refuge at my cousins home. Showered and put in their lounge room to finally sleep, my mind kept ruminating with survivors guilt, full of chastisement and self loathing for not saving her. When suddenly a male voice, clear and compassionate said to me in my head, 'you are not to blame' and 'you are beautiful'. It both scared me and released me. I fell asleep finally, for 10 hours. I will never forget it and I hope to never hear it again. Question - was it my sub-conscience or an omnipresent. It felt like the latter as I did not recognise it at all.

As a little boy, I was seriously depressed because of my late father's love of alcohol. He didn't even realize that he destroyed my childhood, but at least, I didn't hear any "voices". No, he never abused me physically, but emotional abuse was bad enough. Worse yet, he never thought that emotional pain even counts... May no one EVER go through what I went through: having a person in your house who you know is your father, but you couldn't even talk to him about anything...

I have heard voices and seen 'entities' all of my life. This has not been distressing, other than having to keep it to myself until the last 15 or so years [I am 53 right now.] I have even voluntarily seen 3 different mental health professionals about it, to help my then husband relax and not fear I was suffering some condition. All three said the same thing. I am not being controlled by these voices. I am not suffering any sort of conditions that require care or meds. I seem to be experiencing something that currently cannot be explained or tracked, but it is not harmful for myself or others. So I was advised that I am fine at least in the realm of these voices and "visions." Having three different professionals in different levels of mental health clear me was nice for me, tho I knew I am not ill or in danger already. the husband went from worried to JEALOUS after I was cleared tho, amazingly. Suddenly i am special and the doctors did imply that I am different and should enjoy my life including these entities [seriously, that as startling!] So his reaction was a really depressing issue for me. We separated a few years later, I am not certain how much of a role these diagnoses played in the separation, but it was amicable and a relief in the end. I still converse with the Beings all the time, they behave as friends and support, and in turn this helps me support others who need help or advice. So I never thought hearing voices is an automatic mental health crisis, unless the voices are harmful or denigrating to the person hearing them. I have advised such people to seek professional help AND insist on an MRI since I read that there are different parts of the brain working when voices are benign and when they are distressing. Luckily 2 of 3 did so and are fine now. the 3rd disappeared, and we all worry for him, but have no idea where he is much less how he is doing, or even if he is alive, sadly. Be brave and ask about voices if you hear them. It is not an automatic label of being 'crazy,' I promise. I am one proof of that!

Hypnagogic, hypnopompic and sleep paralysis used to happen to me almost all the time I went to sleep. It started around 16 and became worse during university. After university I began doing shift work , which wasn’t helpful. I used to think something was wrong me as I made the mistake of mentioning to some of my classmates and they all looked at me as if I was a murdering psychopath. I realised that after each night shift , I didn’t feel like myself. I almost felt “high” towards the end of the shifts and I also used to talk a lot(sometimes utter nonsense). I had to quit my full time post and become agency so that I’d only do day shifts. To this day, I still hear voices as I’m about to fall asleep, even when I’m awake and my eyes are open. I use to find it quite distressing but I started listening to relaxing sounds when I went to bed and it helps a lot. I can’t imagine falling asleep without some sound in the background. I’ve been using this method for around 2 years now.

My brother thinks it's V2K (voice to skull technology), and that the government is picking on certain "high potential" people so they can't fully realize their gifts, and thus are no longer a threat to the status quo. Or something like that. Others, myself included, feel it's more a psychic/angelic/demonic thing. Certain people with heightened perception attract this sort of bullying, kinda like the kid in The Shining. I'm a sensitive person, so I can "feel" people's energies and moods (often without me wanting to, but I'm getting better at controlling it). Some people are FAR more invasive than others, and they're quite good at getting into my head sometimes. The only thing that helped me with this stuff, besides years of Qigong meditation, was a free sample of Aetheric orgone tech. It's like throwing on a comfy suit of armor, or a thick invisible sweater. The effect is instant. It's kinda unreal. Qigong helps a lot too, but I can't do it every second of the day. So Aether has been useful. If anyone else is hearing voices, or being invisibly messed with, you should give 'em a try. I think they still give out free samples.

There are good and bad spirits that are inside our bodies. We attract the type of spirits depending on how we lived our lives - are we negative, or positive. The bad ones tempt us to do many bad things. They are trying to lead us to a darker path. The negative thoughts, actions, perversion - porn addictions , promiscuity, drug additions, depressions, hate, anger, suicide, etc. are all from them. The good ones are our conscience, the bad ones are our temptations. They all talk to us to lead us to do good and bad things. For those who can actually hear them, the cloak is removed. They can hear voices as a form of karma, or to lead them to a darker path -the demons are aggressive. For some who hear good spirits are what we call enlightened. They are led by good spiritual forces. There are no cure to hearing voices. the medical field should accept that there are unseen energies that can affect and influence our brains. Prescribing drugs only worsens the brains of people.

This a very real problem that can be life threatening, one of my daughters has been diagnosed with Bipolar with psychotic features, auditory hallucinations. Voices sometimes chattering nonsense then at times she has commands to hurt her self. I am commenting here because I have read some very condescending and trivializing comments that make me sad to read. My daughter has attempted suicide twice, self harm several times with dire consequences. 11 weeks in a trauma center, permanent spinal damage after voice commands to jump off an overpass, she clams not to recall until lying on the ground with assistance being given to her. We continue to monitor her, giving RX's Dr.'s appointments, etc.

I've heard my name called during these situations and been jolted right back awake. With these hallucinations, I've also heard numerous voices talking at the same time, like when a radio is caught between two different stations.

When I was a kid between 5-8, I remember being wide awake laying in bed often and hearing whispering. Usually mornings. It sounded just like people (more then one) trying to talk to me. The more I tried to concentrate on what they were saying, the louder the whispers would get and more like words. But I could never make out anything. As soon as I heard someone wake up in the morning or other things, it would stop. As if it was an off switch. I used to think maybe I was still half sleeping, but when I knew I was fully awake and aware, it still happened. I haven’t experienced this as an adult in my 30’s. What about THOSE voices?

I've had alot of trauma, and I'm always anxious, do to anxiety, ive talked to a therapist, they told me it sounds like I have an extreme anxiety disorder but I don't think I've had an actual diagnosis. I was however diagnosed with ptsd when I was smaller, (I'm 14 currently) . I just need some reassurance and I want at least the fear taken off my chest. On occasion I will hear things (footsteps behind me or in another room when I’m alone, my name whispered loudly in a crowd, a conversation I can barely hear in an empty room) and I always wondered if it was normal. I was diagnosed with PTSD 20 years ago and if I can share my own experience... hearing voices for me is like waking up from a bad dream & shaking it off... startling at times but easy to let go. Comparatively, PTSD is like not being able to escape a bad dream and having to force yourself awake from inside the nightmare... it tends to stay with you long after, effecting you deeply.

I used to take my medications (Olanzapine) when I was 16. The voices in my head were harmless and never said any bad things about me. But when the pandemic came, I started to imagine listening to the growling demonic voice that tells me that my crush doesn’t like me or that he’s toying with my feelings. He does really love me but the added anxiety makes the voices in my head worse. I also sometimes hear the voice of my grandpa telling me that I should become a lawyer in the future so I could follow his legacy. My grandfather’s still alive, just that he rarely gives those suggestions that made me feel pressured Edit: I'm not sure whether or not I had schizophrenia when my psychiatrist prescribed me Olanzapine at age 16.

I hear 4 voices and they are relatives of mine. They talk negatively about me. They critique every single action and thoughts that I have. 1 of them is just laughing about me and once in a while will say "dang she's a tripp." The 2nd one is my sister's voice and is always saying how stupid and ridiculous I am and she can't stand me. The 3rd voice is my older brothers' and he too talks crap and throws a tantrum at times. The 4th is one of my aunt's voice and she sometimes is talking crap in Navajo language and sometimes she's telling the other 3 to stop bothering me. They seem to be reading my thoughts and judge them along with everything I do. They tell me that the whole world is watching me and now I am paranoid to be in public sometimes and being in crowds. Some days I am not affected. There times when people say things that I was only thinking and i become frightened because it makes me believe the world IS watching me somehow also reading my thoughts through a screen. They never shut up. They become stronger when I am stressed or sleep deprived. All day I go back and forth with "they are not real...there is no way anyone can read my thoughts...to someone is doing it me....that they are doing something to me to make suffer, end my life or end up in a mental ward. I cry sometimes because they dont ever leave me alone and I'm starting to want to numb myself with alcohol. If I were to ever face these people whom these voices belong to in real life...because they are still alive...who knows what would happen. It's been suggested to take pills but I dont want to because then they've won and i will be a complete zombie. I do pray and it does help but there are days i can't even deal...almost desperate to the point where I think only ending my own life they will end...but again they would have won....and my kids will be motherless. I hate them. They make me question my intentions about everything I am doing...am I doing this or that because of what they're gonna say or am i doing this because I want to. And that's exhausting. Today is a hard day....which brings me to this video and this comment.

Sometimes it's music, usually just like random pop utterances and it blends with my noise fan. Today, I've officially been awake about two days. I'm so overtired but just can't get my brain to stop freaking out, I know it's not real. It's the craziest thing. I'd like the auditory hallucination part if it wasn't tied to anxiety and every noise making me jump or seem much more intense than it usualy would be. For example: a toilet flush, someone next door walking to the mailbox or whatever. I dropped a plate earlier and it just about made me jump outa my skin. I hope I can fix this soon, because it's really starting to get old lol. Awesome vid. This is at least distracting me from my own crazy mind. Apologies for going off topic a little. :D

I hear voices all throughout the day and night usually repeating the same thing over and over again everyday except when I’m sleeping. I feel like people talk only negative things about me such as “go to hell,” “nobody likes you,” “you’re just a nobody” or they say “I hate you.” Sometimes it seems like the voices in my head can see and hear what I’m doing at the moment like playing video games or looking at my phone. I honestly think somebody is putting these voices in my head because sometimes they say words I’m not really familiar with the meaning of and google the definition and ends up relating to me.

So, I used to hear voices every now and then as a kid. But I’d mostly hear my name whispered in my ear. I’d feel someone’s breath in my ear as I heard my name. I remember the room would get cold, and all my hairs would stand up, and I felt It something in the room with me. My sister said she used to hear her name called in that house too, and my mom many years later finally admitted she’d hear it too, even though she denied it for awhile because she was a bit freaked out. My sister also said when she lived there, she’d always see like dark figures walking in my room, and she always felt weird when she went into my room. I also used to feel something just staring at me while I slept and something laying just above me when I lived there. Once the house burnt down randomly one night from an electrical issue, (there was no smoke from the fire until after we’d all gotten out safely which I found weird. It stopped for a while. We all thankfully got out of the house safely. Then I was around 17 and dabbled into some things I shouldn’t have, and I heard many voices I couldn’t make out. It made me feel insane. It finally went away after awhile and lots of praying. Now, at 23, I’m getting closer with God and I am growing my faith, but the last few nights, I’ve been hearing whispers for some reason, and laughing. I began to hear my name too. Now, usually I cannot make out what’s being said. Though, I can sometimes make out some words. Last night, I heard my name again, and this deep voiced laughter, and as I went to close my eyes and try to sleep, I heard a whisper saying, “is she asleep?” And another saying, “not yet” or something along those lines. I brought my dog in my room because I got scared lowkey. And then my dog started acting weird and breathing heavily. Then I kept getting scared he’d bite me even though he’s the sweetest dog and have never bitten anybody. A couple of nights before this, I remember closing my eyes, and I seen this black man, and I believe two more men on each side behind him, but the one in the middle stuck out to me more, and he looked angry, and was running full force at me, drooling almost foaming at the mouth. I opened my eyes really quick. But does this mean I’m schizophrenic?

Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (Jn 3:16" But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17)=

I experienced the early trauma, but unfortunately the voice I hear is not a source of comfort. It’s the voice of my mother who abused me yelling my name :(

I have suffered from auditory hallucination. I take medication for psychosis. But I am also a very aware person that meditates. I often hear voices from people that turns out in unbelievable way in accordance to what they tend to think and believe. Its not hallucination. Its more telepathy telepathy
