Is hiring process different from the onboarding process?

Shouldn't onboarding be paid if you have already been hired? I accepted a job and it was not disclosed that many hours of onboarding would be unpaid until after I completed it. I felt disrespected and rescinded my acceptance.

I'm already hired at multiple jobs but can't work at any of them because I can't access the onboarding process and HR never does anything

Sounds like the onboarding is online. Have you tried telling your managers or Payroll?

I have but all they do is give me an email to contact and when I do that they email me a hotline and the hotline gives me the same email to contact

I love this video series! I previously worked as a Trainer for a call center and had to do some portions of onboarding as part of my job duties, working closely with Talent Acquisition, HR and recruiting. This is where I found my passion to transition to HR and I am trying to pivot into that area. Unfortunately, there were no open positions at that employer for anything HR related but I did do some mentoring with Talent Acquisition and got to sit in on interviews and data input processes. I’d love to see a video about how to best pivot from training/learning and development into HR since the two departments tend to work so closely. How could I include this info in my resume? And also I’m finishing up my Associates in general studies and looking to get my bachelors in Human Resources Management but wonder if it’s possible to get my foot in the door with my previous training and mentoring experience? I had to jump back into call center work for a bank and currently do coaching for new hires and trainees as a part of my job. Thank you again for all the work you put into these videos for those of us interested in the topic and looking to make a career change.

External recruiters or staffing agencies do onboarding before you get started on an actual job, but if you applied directly for a company then onboarding happens after you've received and accepted a job offer. CONGRATS!!!

I filled my application onboarding HR person said no issues with the application just waiting on fingerprints and drug test but I’m still confused

I am too. With no punctuation marks you have me confused. If I get this comment right, then my response is this: An application is where you've simply applied for the job. The fingerprints and drug test are in the next stage which is the pre-employment or background screening portion of the process.

Onboarding means your hired unless a third-party staffing agency is doing the onboarding. If the company itself is doing the onboarding, then you're hired.
