I tell people if they are taking $1000 or more home a week... just stay at your job
@Haleen. Жыл бұрын
I make 600 a week I have 10k saved for a down for a truck and I’m getting a hand down trailer from my uncle. I work like 40 hours every week idk if it’s worth it or not I don’t make enough for the stuff that I do but I also don’t want to invest in it if it won’t be worth it. What do you think ?
@Juan-tj1bf Жыл бұрын
@flowerboikenney9243 are you single? Have family? Like to drive? Can manage being away from home? Honestly I would save the money. If you can get the truck with zero down, get it. It's a long term investment... you will probably start seeing $20,000 or more months after a year. And that's because you will start to good at partialling loads. And this takes time because you start to learn the market. As in who ships what. What lines stay busy. How to manage you time. How to troubleshoot breakdowns. Etc. This is a full time gig. Don't expect to work 8 hour days. Expect 12 to 14 hrs days. 5 to 6 days a week. It's tough. Hotshoting isn't for everyone. Sleeping in truck. Having to find where to park every night. Eating truck stop food. Note: 20k is gross, expect a 3rd of that is take home. Another 3rd for business. Remaining 3rd for taxes. You pay 15.6% for ss and medicaid alone plus your earn income..

What boards do you use cuz its very rare i see anything $2.25 or more i would say the average is .80c a mile

This is good information and honest, I started 8 months ago, left a good job I regret it. All my friends cashed in and got out. Those you tube guys lured me in with false information. Hotshot is slow now. I am trying to weather the storm. I would add have other income coming in, meaning part time jobs to supplement income with some money coming in to off set the slow times.

If there are better rates for a hs in the area you have your semi, why don't you book the hs load? I dispatch myself and truckload rates for a hs aren't as good as partials.

Are you currently letting someone lease under your Company ?

Thanks for the update. I was just wondering if I was able to use my 36 foot enclosed goose neck trailer to haul anything up to 16k GVWR
@PowerlifterRich Жыл бұрын
A 36 ft enclosed trailer. I don't think I've seen one of them! Why did you get enclosed over a flatbed? I'd use and enclosed for moving ppl locally! You can make 1500 in a day easy doing that. Get on Dat and you will fond loads if you got your overpriced commercial insurance already
