Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, in its original context is great. Now, however it's just kind of ridiculous. Everyone that is using the statement is using it completely out of context, assuming the stage of scientific research is in the peer review process. In reality it's closer to somewhere between data collection and floating ideas to process the data in the most effective way possible. Don't process your data to fit a confirmation bias.
