Is Hydrapple the Most Underrated Grass Type in Regulation F VGC?

Hydrapple is never used in Generation 9 Scarlet & Violet Regulation F VGC even though it has some amazing stats but it did win an online tour in the early format. 2020 LAIC VGC Champion & 3rd Place at both the 2019 and 2022 Pokemon VGC World Championships tries out Hydrapple and is very confused on this unique Pokemon.

Hi! Renan VIII from game 3 here. Most guys use inci to attack talonflame. Your master class battle here got me. (Scarf Urshifu). Weak talonflame to not hurt Dragonite too much. I like spread damage, talonflame was heat wave air cutter. You can see it working on my last video. GGs you are the man!

I was already a Sinistcha fan, but I really like Hydrapple! My first Reg F team I made had it in. TR Psyspam core, then Bellibolt/Hydrapple/Incineroar/Swampert. Bellibolt packed soak, either to remove steel and dark typings for psyspam, or open opponents up for Bellibolt and Hydrapples attacks. In fact, I made it outspeed Belli by one point so it'd go right after it in TR so they could go hard on opponents. I actually saw Fickle beam proc quite a bit? I think if you're not gonna run Draco Meteor, it's a solid alternative to Dragon Pulse at least. I was curious about Regenerator, though! My original vision was Tera Water & Hydro Pump with Supersweet Syrup to make things connect, but between Incineroar's Intimidate and Supersweet Syrup, it made fights against Defiant pokemon a nightmare.

With Giga Drain combined with Regenerator, would you think Focus Sash is acceptable for Hydrapple, in order to allow for an ally Kingambit to use the Assault Vest instead?

Hydrapple is bulky enough where Focus Sash doesn't seem necessary. There are other items it could prefer like berries, Helmet or Life Orb instead.

Well, talonflame is weak so upper hand will not hurt dnite a lot. Hehehe but as u can see, it is nice, but no great. I am improving my play with this team.
