@@Bigjohn2121 Sadly true in some cases, and I have owned those bikes, even own a 1000cc sport bike right now sitting around 180hp, I ride that one less then I do my 800cc 90hp bike though, just more comfy power for the road. Did also have an 1800cc Harley not too long ago, just stupid size of an engine in my mind, but was also real comfy for long distance travel.

Motorcycle sales have been down ever since the recession in 2008. Numbers have never recovered ever since then regardless of manufacturer. With most of them increasing their prices I don't see more people buying bikes unfortunately
@marcoantoniogarcia385 ай бұрын
That’s in the US because bikes are seeing as a weekend hobby and not also a daily commuter like in other countries. Also it doesn’t help that in most of the country you cannot lane split and have to ride as if you’re in a car in the city which is really dumb and take away one of the biggest advantages of riding over driving in big congested cities.
@kschantz5 ай бұрын
@@marcoantoniogarcia38 I ride my Chief to work almost every day. I hate lane splitters. It's dangerous and it makes auto drivers hate motorcyclists even more. I've had to use that space a couple of times to get our from behind a couple of morons riding each other's quarter panels, but straight up lane splitting? Never.
@marcoantoniogarcia385 ай бұрын
@@kschantz That’s something very US American to say. Driver’s hate you, why? It’s not as if you’re skipping the line in front of them, they won’t arrive any earlier if you don’t pass them, on the contrary, if you take the space of a car and stand behind them you’re going to make the traffic even worse. In Europe, Asia, Latin America… no auto driver is going to hate you for lane splitting because most two wheels riders do that and there’s a lot more two wheels on the road then in the US, so it’s just something normal. Besides, there’s nothing worse than sitting in traffic on a motorcycle, in the rain it’s even worse. About the danger part, yes, it can be kinda dangerous, but riding is dangerous anyway, just be careful.

Well the analytics show pretty clearly indian isn't dying, quite the opposite. Pretty expensive looking event for a "dying" company.....harley is the company losing market share
@howdiedoodie85875 ай бұрын
I’m definitely not saying it’s happening, but you can’t judge a company’s viability on the amount of money spent on an event like this. I worked for a rail car manufacturer back in the 80’s. They sent a bunch of efficiency experts down to our plant for a couple of weeks. About a month later the company invested several millions of dollars upgrading the computer systems and many things on the production system. About 2 months after this was done they started laying people off which always seemed to happen around the presidential election time for some reason and had happened that way for 50 years. But this time was different, they laid everyone off and completely shut down operations at the plant permanently, and eventually the plant was sold. I asked a union rep why a company would come in and spend millions of $$ on a plant and then just shut it down. He said that’s been done many times by many companies and they do it for a tax write off. So you can never really tell. I learned from that to always buy at least one share of stock in a company I had an interest in. By owning one share of stock you get info as a shareholder that gives you the real insight into a company’s health. If shareholders aren’t making money , look out. It’s all about them being kept happy.
