Loved every part of it. On your photoshoot I counted three smiley faces, two cats and two roosters and countless wonderful people. Long fascinated by Indonesia: it's culture and (mostly dark) history. By a hundred to one I'd rather see Bima than Bali and all the off-the-beaten- path towns you visit which truly is Follow The Boats best feature. Thanks again.

The still photos are interesting as to their colors of fences, walls, what people wear etc. very bright and colorful scenery.

It's the difference between a tourist trip and seeing the real country. I still remember being surprised at seeing a guy hand weaving cloth sat next to another guy chipping mobile phones for the first time. People are amazingly resourceful lol

It certainly helps doing this at a slower pace. You have more time to get yourself out there and absorb the culture. They still weave those cloths but the phone vendors have all moved to bricks and mortar. There are as many phone shops as coffee shops in Indo 😅

There is what I call "Photographer's Eye". That ability to anticipate the shot, both in composition and timing. It is not in my gift, so I mainly do landscapes as I have the time to compose.@@followtheboat

Bima was one of our favorites, we expected to stay for 2 days and spent a week, why? The people of course. My experience in the 9 years Ive been out is go to the places that people say is not the best and most time you find gems. Great seeing you a few weeks ago while you were alone and on the hard. ❤ Kat & Scott

Indeed, although I think that's a long way off for many of these places. That said, we have seen this happen in a few spots along these islands.

It's a pretty safe place to visit. I can think of far more dangerous places in the west.
