I'm pretty sure you always get a card from him, it just might not be discounted, depending on whether you win the lane. He might not be as powerful as Surtur, but I'm infinitely more interested in Iron Patriot in terms of fun and deck building potential

We'll be seeing Bob everywhere with IP. Not recommended to be played early though. T1 Nebula to drew attention away, T2 IP in empty lane. Play Bob on T3 along with another 2-cost (Kate Bishop) on IP lane and that should seal his lane. Opponent would have to choose between IP or Nebula. And we shouldn't worry on having too many cards on IP lane because we can rearrange Bob anytime.

@@NerdDynamite Definitely a lot of the value comes from the discount, though he still functions as a budget Nick Fury without it. I think the advantage of getting the card immediately is that it lets you decide whether to fight for the location and get the discount, or abandon it if the card you get isn't playable while your opponent potentially overcommits.

The deck im intending to play is very close to yours, just more leaning to card creation(Collector, hood, kate, moon girl, she hulk). Cant wait next week.

Ah! That’s a good call out. I really could see Iron Patriot going one of two ways. Either he’s a much stronger Agent Coulson since he discounts the card, or he’s a little better than Emporer Hulkling because of the randomness.

On the surface, it doesnt seem as flashy as Surtur, Galacta, etc. But I have a feeling he will be solid.

I worry that with more random card generator decks, it’ll be a secondary Arishem deck in that you’ll lose plenty of games to an Iron Patriot, Coulson, or Nick Fury card.

Sounds skippable, yet I like that RNG factor, that may be an instant Snap condition. Then again, I'll wait for the first weekend to make a final decision

@timsetto besides SP card, the only value I see is gold. The only cosmetics in this game I care about are variants by Dan Hipp 🤷‍♂️

Yep, waiting makes a ton of sense with this card. I’m not a person who thinks the Season Pass is must get because of the “value”. The biggest reason is the card.

@@NerdDynamiteyup, and then again - like you said in this clip - Surtur was skippable, but the hype was sooooo huge! On the other side - I still regret missing Gwenpool. Far from must have, yet over last months I missed few funny decks 🤷‍♂️
