Go for plants based milk like soy milk or coconut milk. If you have to drink milk keep you own cow and take care of her for 20 years, or buy from ISKON Goshala or from Goshala which is legit take care of cows.

Finally, it feels good to hear someone thinks the way, I think about consuming meat. I feel, we shouldn't mourn the death of humans(be it our family members), if we can be okay with the killing of other animals and consuming meat products. As far as I know, All non-vegetarians always come up with this one dialogue of "having good nutritional diet" being the reason for them eating non-veg or they start explaining science of food cycle(little do they know, that it's commercial animal rearing born out of capitalism and to silence their urge to eat non-veg) when they run out of reasons. We need to understand that human civilization have come so far from being that hunting-gathering society where we had limited food options but today, one can just google and there you have a whole vegetarian diet list which is nutritionally richer than the non-veg one. My whole family used to be non-veg while I was growing up, but I was merely 6 or 7 year old when I gained consciousness for not eating non-veg, by myself. Since then I've been following vegetarianism, during covid, I switched to Veganism for 3 years, for some reasons, I had to discontinue but I pledge to be vegan now onwards till the day I die. I'm someone who love my life, my family's life and every human existing on this planet. We all deserve love, we all didn't choose to be born, but we did(so the other animals who feel the same pain of getting bruised and killed), Now, It is upon us to decide how we would want to live together in harmony with others on this planet.

But we as humans being the great Hippocrates on Earth won’t even bother about such kind creatures for our own taste and selfish motives. Animals like- Cows, elephants etc. have some religious sentiments attached with them. So if people can ask in the name of religion (which actually is their taste of tongue or other economic benefits) to kill and consume some animals then atleast we can try to protect some of them for the same. Also until laws will be strictly implemented and taken care of by the authorities without being corrupt we can only just talk about it because as a common man either you need the support of masses or strict law implementation by the authorities transparently. So of course every animal has the complete right to live with due respect and kindness but just arguing about it won’t help at all.

Hii Nikita, very well explained video on beef slaughtering. In Hinduism, we worship cow (Goumata) but ironically we do not have much place for bulls. Now we relate cows with milk and mother and hence the respect, but when it comes to calves, no one can determine which sex it will be before the birth, when its a male calf, it become an economic burden on the gaushala, after it has become adult, as we do not need so many male cattles but more female cattles for milk production, so always the question comes, what to do with them, then comes the business and selling the male cattles and mature calves to other countries. Being a researcher myself and living abroad, I always believe in sustainability but when we merge religion and compromise, then we have to try find a way. You talked about pork ban in Islamic country, the only thing that would not match with our Indian scenario is that, the Islamic countries do not use any pork based dairy or other thing, so nor male or female pigs are reared for livestock there but from cattle in India, we depend on cows milk and worship them. Probably one solution is when we say worship we should shift our mind to worshipping both male and female cattles and save both genders, rather than discriminating them and killing the other gender and saving one for our benefit. But for doing this who would bear the cost, specially for small farmers, that's a very big question.....? It is such an awareness video that you created, many many thanks. I was enraged when I heard that Hindus are doing this to the cows but then at 3:02 when you said "dairy farmers sell their cows to butchers for profit" I was instantly hit with realisation. So I'm from Assam and many families here own cows(not as much in the past). They keep the cow until it's providing milk to them and after that they'd sell the cow. The same is for male calves. They sell it to nearby cow- buyers. My own family had cows until 2013, I was a kid then. We've a festival in Assam called Goru-bihu(meaning cow bihu) we do stuff like bathing the cows, giving them vegetable maalas and do kind of a Arti. So yes the people of Assam realy love and respect cows right? I guess they are a total hypocrites. Because the people my family and the neighbours sold their cows to were Muslims, so I do not need to say what happens next. And I don't know about other parts of Assam but it's very common in my Village. And also we have goru-bazars(cow-market), where people can buy cows.

I agree about hypocrisy but i do understand that some People does sell their cows & calves when they are No longer useful to them. Its bcz they used them till they got milk Or help in ploughing but when they are no longer useful then some people just can't bear the expenses of dry cows after they are no longer useful. I have seen some poor families in my village . They Raise 1 or 2 cows bcz they can't afford more than that & they milk them , use that for their own family & sell the Remaining milk to 1 or 2 other families.... But when cows are no longer useful to them so they can't afford to keep the cow & feed them till their lifetime Bcz they barely earn enough to feed themselves. So they just sell those cows & buy new ones. Not commenting on is it right or wrong but those poor people chose themselves over cows bcz they didn't have other options. They need money for survival

But the point is not that why they're selling the cows or what their situation is, if you look from a dharmic point of view, it is the same cow who they worshipped. And if you just look from humanity pov, for the very poor families who depended on the cow, the cow fed them and ran their households and after they couldn't anymore they just abandoned them? Like in my village, my paternal family have 1 out of 2 dry cows, but we kept that dry cow bcz we are attached to her, that cow helped us for years & may be its last stage of that cow as she is old already but bcz we can afford to feed her even if we doesn't get milk from her, its fine for us. We are not rich but lower middle class but afford that much. But i have seen one family in my maternal side, that family is very poor & had 1 cow, they used to milk that cow & made ghee out of it & earned money by selling pure ghee. they don't have any fixed source of income or family wealth. The man of the family is like a daily wage worker & his wife too does some odd jobs. When their cow stopped giving milk they too sold their cow bcz they couldn't afford to feed the cow also they are not earning from that cow anymore.They are so broke that their 3rd child died when he was 8 month old bcz they couldn't provide him medical treatment on time. They sold the cow to get 2000 (not sure if that was a butcher or not) & i won't blame them for that bcz they chose their survival over anything. Not justifying butchering of cow as it is holy to us according to our dharma. I too come from a family where we save the first roti for the cows to feed but that family chose their 2 remaining kids over cow. They got money against that dry cow which would feed their children. They might be selfish but that was their need at that time. They chose survival over dharma. I won't say all those who are selling cows are poor some are just greedy for money but i won't blame all bcz some poor people do exists whose situation force them to do this. Some privileged people are concerned About cow rescue then they should use their money in it. They can buy such dry cows.... This would give shelter to such cows which are no more useful for the owners & those owners would get their money. That money would help those poor owners & quench the thirst of some greedy owners as well. Hence in the end the cow would survive. But people won't do this irl & blaming & complaining won't help anyone.

Like I already said, I'm in no way going to comment on someone's situation or what else should they've done for I don't have the answers to it, but I'll do talk about right and wrong bcz at the end it doesn't matter what circumstances made us do something, if we are aware and see it as wrong then we're going to really regret. We are humans and hence we make mistakes or we give them the name 'mistake' even if we do it willingly and yes certain situations are to blame for that, but no matter how hopeless we're, aren't they all just excuses? Maybe we can move on with the fact that the cow made the supreme sacrifice for a child, mother for a reason. I have come to sense some form of hatred without you when you said 'privileged'. People who care for animals from their heart and soul cannot be termed as privileged. Some may earn more and some less, that area doesn't define their love for animals. Likewise a certain person cannot call a person who works really hard to earn as privileged. But yes if we are all talk and no action then we'll be all in the negative. We can always do something for animals, actually we can do a LOT but we're human's and we're selfish.

Thanks @Nikita, The cow issue you highlighted shows the hypocrisy we are brushing under the carpet. This is so disheartening, I think this should reach more people as I am sure many people dont understand this yet. I stopped consuming dairy products almost an year back for the same reason. I occasionally go to iskon gaushala near my place and feed cows, it's always a spiritual and heartwarming experience for me, I dont think ISKON could be involved in such a thing. This white and pink revolution which I perceived earlier as a good thing, now seems so horrendous.

My blood boils after watching this video. Thanks for this eye opener . Hopefully, Indians will come up with an alternative business strategy to earn money, rather than brazenly slaughtering cows, which has direct cultural and religious implications. Slaughtering a cow on the Indian soil is not just a sin, it is a shameful depiction of hypocrisy, trodding on hindu ideals, and unopposed submission of hindus to the mlechas.

I as a Muslim Once one of my hindu friend in a hate tone once asked me not to consume beef or chicken Then I replied him Hindu is the prominent cow owner in India as a hindu you ask your community not to sell them to butchers if butchers won't get cows to slaughter they won't be able to sell beef if they don't sell beef no one will consume beef this is just like cigarette government wants to have heavy taxes from from them but want awareness not to consume

Hindus in our country do the same lol. They are the biggest exporters of cows everywhere. They leech off cows as long as they give milk and after they stop giving milk, they either abandon them in the jungles to die or hand them over to butchers for some money. Yet, when there is discussion about people eating beef, they are the first to argue and call them Satans😂. I don't eat beef either, but the hypocrisy they give off is something else.
