@@StayActive98 what does that even mean? Blood diamonds are blood diamonds. They are obtained using murder, near-slave labor, child labor, smuggling and bribes. The rarest diamond among diamonds is a red one, which is formed by a unique change in the carbon. To make a red diamond in the lab, you just have to get lucky. REALLY lucky. In fact, you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning 40 times and surviving and being 100 precent correct on a 400 page question sheet. While just guessing.
@christopheuhlin73095 ай бұрын
@gliocz you are correct about red diamonds. Pink and purple ones too. These get their colour due to plastic deformation of their crystal lattice and so not possible yet to manufacture. I am a certified gemmologist and diamond grader by the gemmological association of Great Britain Hatton Garden. I no longer work in this field. I was talking about the regular white diamond engagement ring here or fancy coloured diamond. Blue/ boron, green and some blue/irradiated, yellow/ nitrogen, black/ overtly irradiated. AND I STILL MAINTAIN THAT NATURAL DIAMONDS ARE UNETHICAL AND THAT LAB GROWN PROVIDED THEY ARE NOT PRODUCED IN ISRAEL " ARE KOSHER "😊 SHALOM BROTHER.

Diamonds are used in engagement rings. The practice is documented among European aristocracy as early as the 15th century, though ruby and sapphire were more desirable gemstones. The modern popularity of diamonds was largely created by De Beers Consolidated Mines, which established the first large-scale diamond mines in South Africa. Through an advertising campaign in the late 1940s and continuing into the mid-20th century, De Beers made diamonds into a key part of the betrothal process - and a coveted symbol of status. The diamond's high value has been the driving force behind dictators and revolutionary entities, especially in Africa, using slave and child labor to mine blood diamonds to fund conflicts. Though popularly believed to derive its value from its rarity, gem-quality diamonds are quite common compared to rare gemstones such as alexandrite, and annual global rough diamond production is estimated to be about 130 million carats (26 tonnes; 29 short tons).
@mikajarvio74895 ай бұрын

I actually returned my engagement ring to the store, after finding out that the diamonds in it likely came from Israel - as 98% of diamonds sold in USA (in 2009) were, according to the jeweller. I could not wear that ring as a symbol of happiness, and my now husband agreed. An attorney, who has studied the US diamond industry, told me that Israelis had been involved in ”drafting” (nice euphemism) the US legislation on ”conflict diamonds,” in order to ensure that Israel circumvented responsibility.
