I called my Congressman! I was so nervous I went very much off-script. But I think I got my point across. I told him (well I told the guy who answered the phone to pass it along to him) to vote to pass The End TB Now Act and I told them to vote on it as soon as possible. The operator told me that they didn't have any say in when it was voted on? I don't know. I've never done anything like that before and, even though I don't think it went great, I think I did my best. Good luck everyone!

A more valid way to decide what percentage of the funds goes to what causes is to look at what the death rate would be without the funds as currently distributed. The percentage of deaths due to malaria, for instance, could be way down because of that spending and reducing that spending could make it go back up again. You could adjust things to balance the death percentages but you have to be careful you aren't also changing the total deaths for the worse in doing so. And that the non-death outcomes and number affected weren't notably worse for one or the other. I'd be surprised if the experts there haven't taken those sorts of things into account in their allocations. I can definitely get behind more funding, though.
