No always, I refinanced my home and cut my rate from 6.5 to 2.5 and cost was only 3K. All the extra money I'm saving its going to principle.

Really bad take. Don't speak in absolutes in general and with refinancing specifically there are times when it makes a lot of sense and would be foolish not to do it.
