Hopefully, this means there's a microfreak VST in the near future!! Arturia is sure making some good stuff these days

Yes they are ^^ But why having the MicroFreak vst when you get the MiniFreak ? the MiniFreak has way more to offer, only thing that lacks is the wavetable engine.

@@olliepsy TBH I thought they were completely different synths. I've loved watching your tutorials on the micro and wanted one since! I went to the shop to buy one but it was used so I held off for now (been burnt buying used before).

Psychedelic freak, c'est clair ;) J'aime beaucoup le SH Glassy et le Naughty FM. C'est vraiment top tes vidéos du genre "can it psychedelic"

Great video, again! The phase on the bass seems to be dancing around a lot.. this is a problem on other Arturia synths too, such as pigments, where it’s not possible to get a surgically consistent start to a bass. I do wonder at this point if they just have a single synth engine that they are reusing across their instruments. Anyway, the interface looks nice, easy, and importantly, quick… so I’ll check it out

I'm not sure if the dancing phase issue comes from the plugin itself or somewhere else, I had this issue with Vital using Ableton but in Bitwig it was stable (or vice versa I forgot)! When it comes to basslines personally I prefer sticking to Serum as it's the only one who's stable everywhere or just sample the bassline and play it from the sampler. Anyways, I think it's really impressive to see a 600€ synthesizers capable of getting decent modern psy basslines without any external processing :)

Nice! Do you have the hardware unit, too? I'm considering getting it. Why do you say it can't be a "main synthesizer"? (I only have Analog Four Mk1)
@olliepsy Жыл бұрын
No, I only have the software! It can't be a main synth (from my pure point of view as a psytrance producer) because of it's unique charachter, it does sound a bit thin & plasticky, which is not bad at all in it's case but this makes it shine in the upper mid range & high frequencies, also, the osc engines it has (so far) doesn't perform that well in the traditional/modern day to day psytrance sound design which is heavily based on wavetable manupaltion & "FM" (that said, I think if they add a wavetable engine like in the MicroFreak, it'll become easily a main synth specially that osc2 effects osc1 which imho is a sound design heaven). That said, I only spent 24hours with it before shooting the video and I noticed how similar it is to the MicroFreak (which I own since it's launch) so my opinion might change with more time spent with it.
