This is my answer, Grace and peace to you from our LORD Jesus Christ, Thank you for your kindness, The ark of the covenant was inside the Holy of Holies, and it wasn’t visible to the people of God in the old testament (Israel), even when they were moving the ark of the covenant in the desert it was covered. God don’t accept that make any image during the worship or as art. You are twisting the word of God God said: De 4:15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female, not only to worship it but also if it was representing God in any way, let me ask you something dear beloved brother, you are a pastor, the statue behind you is it for Jesus or for someone else? Did The Lord Jesus I ask you in any way to make a statue for Him in the New Testament, Did He ask us even to have an artwork? show me please!!! You know and I know that the Bible warned us, because of our knowledge other people do sin against God and could PERISH. do you want that? 1Co 10: 9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. 10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; 11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? 12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. You are mentioning the shroud of Turin this is a big lie from the Catholic Church, when we forgot that the LORD Jesus Christ was anointed with 100 pounds of myrrh and aloes, where are they on the shroud? And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. where is the remaining of these spices on the shroud? This is LIE, And the Jewish people do not Cover the body in this maner. they wrap him" bound hand and foot ". see the example: John 10 : And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound Are we adopting now the philosophy and the teaching from the Catholic Church instead of the Bible? It is not important what you believe and what I believe, what is important is what God teaches, God doesn't care about my beliefs, or your beliefs. He cares that we need to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. You did not mention that in your argument? We don’t worship God by any representation to Him. We don’t need a camera or art work or painting of the LORD Jesus Christ, John 4: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. In addition, if you believe in the incarnation of the LORD Jesus Christ you should obey Him dear pastor. and be an example to the church of God, You should worship God in Spirit not in any representation. Please listen to the message and stop defending your position just to win the argument. You can win the argument but you will deceive the people of God… I am afraid that we have lost the discernment. Please forgive me, if my words are straightforward. I love you in Christ, you are my brother, and if I’m writing these words that is because we should be all closer to God, closer to His heart, closer to His word. Not justifying our deeds with examples from the world, from the Catholic, or orthodox Churches…. Again we should not follow the history we should follow Christ our LORD and obay His word. We should have the mind of Christ. We should worship God in Spirit and Truth, We should worship God according to His Holy word, Please give me one verse in the New Testament that encourages us to do anything physical to God in the place of worship or in our homes. Let us fear God dear brother and pastor. God bless you in the LORD Jesus Christ Name to worship Him with the Father in Spirit and Truth.

Thanks! I have studied Orthodoxy quite a bit and visited a local Greek Orthodox Church once. I greatly respect the Orthodox. I have found though that their are some Orthodox traditions that I cannot verify biblically and that is why I am still a Baptist.
@cuthbertsboots57334 жыл бұрын
@@PastorScottIngram Which traditions specifically, if you don't mind me asking?
@PastorScottIngram4 жыл бұрын
I don’t mind at all. I cannot agree with praying to the saints. There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus and we are specifically told not to speak to the dead in scripture. I also do not agree with the idea that the Lord’s Supper becomes the actual body and blood of Christ. I have read the arguments for it being so, but I believe Jesus wasn’t making that assertion within the scripture. I also have seen the tendency among some Orthodox to imply that God doesn’t judge sin and that Christ wasn’t our substitutionary atonement for sin. I don’t see that in all the Orthodox teachers but most certainly lean in that way and that certainly doesn’t agree with the Bible. Those are the top of my list. I think the Orthodox have allowed, over time, for these traditions to come in that don’t agree with what I understand from the scripture that the New Testament church believed.
@cuthbertsboots57334 жыл бұрын
@@PastorScottIngram I appreciate your willingness to answer my question in detail. How do you come into contact with the Blood of Christ if not through the Eucharist? And what do you think Jesus Christ meant by "This is My Body... This is My Blood..."?
@cuthbertsboots57334 жыл бұрын
@Kile I fail to see how the Blood of Christ is compared to the Spirit in any of those passages. Would you mind going through them? The one from Hebrews only further illustrates the necessity of the doctrine of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The blood of bulls and goats was offered upon the altar of the Old Law, and now the perfect Blood of God is offered upon the altar of the New Covenant. Blood was sprinkled on objects to purify them under the Old Law, and now the perfect Blood of Christ is ingested into our bodies and our spirits, thereby purifying them. If all of this was just metaphorical or incorporeal, then there would have been no need for Christ to physically shed His Blood. He could have been immaterial God giving the illusion of death and bloodshed, as the Gnostics said. But we believe in a real, physical Jesus Christ, a God made flesh, and we believe that His physical Body and Blood are not useless, but are constantly given to us in the Eucharist. "My Flesh is true food, and My Blood is true drink. He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him." There is no getting around this, and it is for this reason that many of Christ's disciples left Him, and it is the result of taking this as some kind of metaphor that whenever you ask a Protestant what they think of the hard sayings in John 6 they have wildly different answers. Yes, the Lord's Supper is a continual reminder of the New Covenant, but it is so much more than that. And some of those whom St. Paul addressed in Corinth who did not take it seriously, who did not properly discern the Body and Blood of the Lord, were sick, and others had died on this account. Metaphors don't kill.

The reality is as children we are exposed to an image of Jesus by an artist, and whenever we think of Jesus as adults we think of that image and it affects how we view other people. Subconsciously, I believe we will view people who look like the image we have of Jesus to be more Godly. This is why people often create an image of Jesus that is closely related to themselves. To say its not important how we paint or sculpt the image of Jesus is a lie as it has powerful effects on how people view other people whether we like it or not. The question to me is, if we cannot trust the images of Jesus that exist, why do we have them at all knowing they will decieve us and be the image many of us will pray to?

One thing most people do not realize is that by having such pictures , those pictures will creep into our mind when we pray when we think about Jesus , when we declare His Name and when we do everything related Him . It is more than worshiping as it ties everything we do to those pictures ( different ones ) which in reality is not the true image of Lord Jesus . It is no wonder Jesus said that many teach , preach and make miracles in His Name but He does not them because they worship the name of " other Jesus " as mentioned by Paul . Bible never described Jesus physically because Holy Spirit knows the tendency of human hearts to make an image of Jesus which is forbidden (like what the Israelis did } If Jesus is pictured such as what we seen in many pictures or drawings , then who will want to respect and worship Him ? There are many other human man image which is much better , much handsome and much powerful and much more beautiful then Jesus pictures we know nowadays . Those picture downgrade our all powerful Savior and do not resemble Him as the One who has been given all the power in heaven and on the earth by God the Father . So it is not about just act of worship to the image but the impact of the image on our mind , feelings and faith which does matter . One question we need to answer ... What If when Jesus returns , He is different from those pictures that we have seen so far ? What is our reaction ?

It is a danger and sin to worship an image but the fact that fact that Jesus appeared in history as real man makes the portrayal of that fact in artwork a testimony to the reality of the incarnation. That jesus is the word of god can be best explained like this, i play trumpet when i do im in my trumpet and my trumpet is in me, in this case the word is in me and I'm in the word ( im in the trumpet and the trumpet is in me,coming from me)
