Jamaica would be smart to try and recruit Smith-Rowe. He’s actually a quarter Jamaican and would really help improve the quality of their midfield. Jamaica would actually be a legitimate threat to be the best team in CONCACAF if they had been able to successfully recruit all the sons and grandsons of Jamaican immigrants who moved to England. The number of quality English players with direct Jamaican heritage is very high. Imagine last year Timber and Tomiyasu not hurt and playing left back instead of Zinchenko. Arsenal would not have conceded so many goals from left side especially against Aston Villa. This year they have tried to plug it with another left back in Calafiori. I am assuming if Calafiori turns out to be as good as the hype is and Timber is back from injury then City will be in trouble. I am only worried about Partey’s position since he is slower than ever and can’t track back . Rice is not the number 8 Arsenal needs so a good option as number 8 as replacement from Partey is what Arsenal are lacking . Basically Arsenal need their own Rodri.

Problem was not Zinchenko, he was doing exactly what White was doing the other end. Unfortunately, in previous season Xhaka was there to protect Zinchenko. Last season due to Xhaka's absence both Zinni and Gabi had a difficult season. However, on the right side when White go upfront to join the attack, Ødegaard drops back to give him cover. That thing was missing for Zinni at left side.

Most of their players aren't even in their prime yet, so they're yet to hit their highest level. Whether it will be good enough will depend more on City keeping their levels up for another season. If Arsenal get Merino and Gyokeres that will be a huge game changer. Arsenal won 18 of their last 20 games last season - most years, that kind of consistency wins you the league. But City have pipped Liverpool twice on form equivalent to that. The opening six games will tell us a lot considering Arsenal plays 3 of last season's top 5 away (Villa, Spurs, City).

Strange that the past two summer windows Arsenal have strengthened their defence when the gap in their squad is up front. When they went through their purple patch of not scoring, it was screaming out they needed a striker; it got glossed over, by the good run of scoring after. If they stay relatively injury-free, they have a good chance, but I just feel last season was a huge lost opportunity, and of course they could still add some firepower before the window closes.

A lot of people should be backing Arsenal to win the title next season but the thing is that as long as Pep Guardiola is at Manchester City, they’re always going to be favorites to win the Premier League and next season there’s a possibility that they win their 5th consecutive league title. It’s true that many of these title races have been close and have been decided on the final day of the season, but in my opinion it’s not good look for the league, the premier league is considered by many fans and pundits as the best league in the world and one team has dominated the league from a longevity perspective winning 6 titles in the last 7 years and realistically speaking right now, the only team that should be able to stop them is Arsenal and even that as we saw with Liverpool, no matter how good they can be during a season, with how small the margins are when going up against this team in a title race, it’s difficult to beat them unless they beat themselves and play terribly. Liverpool were the ones who bottled the title last season, not Arsenal, I mean they did everything in their power, 89 points had the best defensive record in the league and from January to May they won 14 out of 16 games and with the form that they were in, in any other season they would’ve won the league. It’s unfortunate that Manchester City without being at their best know how to peak at the right time and find their form since they’ve won the league so many times and have experience to do it even when they’re the chasers. With all due respect to Arsenal, they’re still lacking that killer instinct and mentality to truly go all the way in these narrow title races because the game against Aston Villa towards the back end of last season where they lost that game and after that won all of their remaining games which wasn’t enough for them in the end, it’s a game that would’ve won them the title if they hadn’t lost that game as the title would’ve been in their hands. Many premier league fans at this point want to see a different winner, as much as I respect Man City, I don’t blame people who are tired of seeing them win the premier league every year since the league is entertaining, it gets boring when everyone knows that City will win and while they’ve strengthened an already elite defense and they’re about to add a midfielder to their team, Arsenal are absolutely contenders for the Premier League title and for most of the season they can play much better than Manchester City, there are certain games where they need to show that sort of mentality that we see from other champions and they don’t have that in them even though they’re steadily improving and hopefully it’s going to be their season this time around.
