I joined the Army when I was 22 years old.! My biggest fear was what this video explained .! My fear wasn’t about dying it was about what my actions and if they would be considers a sin.! It’s easy to misinterpret things in the Bible and to listen to many preachers saying that killing is a sin, it made me angry that I couldn’t find an answer.! Three wars I have been through and on multiple occasions I should have been dead, I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for his love and protection that I have never had to experience taking someone’s life .! I prayed that i didn’t have to and he delivered me from that .! Although I seen and experienced many times the deaths of many it did change me and it made me angry and put me in dark places but I could always count on God and he brought me out of those places.! Nobody wants to take a life, we all just want to live peacefully and God knows us better than we know ourselves and I pray that nobody has to take a life but if comes time and you must defend yourself and others, do just that and nothing more .!

Thank you my brother in Christ! Something I rarely heard on the Job. I’ve recently became disabled from 20 years in Law Enforcement. 20 years of night shift and we know what dwells in darkness! Anyways thank you brother. I’ve been down range many times gun battles hand to hand combat with multiple enemies at once high speed felony pursuits flipping my cruiser chasing a child molester destroying my spine but I worked for years after that because low percentage of body fat and lots of muscle ( not anymore) compensating for the spinal injury until it couldn’t anymore. Broken boneS but worth than that was the mental health issues from what your exposed to and how to process it. Easier said than done! But I pray daily for my brothers and sisters in Christ and Military and Law Enforcement. People don’t understand stand that weight. If it wasn’t for Christ my Lord and Savior I wouldn’t be here. To many times he saved me and I didn’t deserve his grace but I’m so grateful for it. To all my family in Police and Military out there call on the name of the Lord! The cold sweats from nightmares reliving death you’ve seen hundreds of times and shoot outs etc. people that talk trash I don’t want by my side because I’ve seen first hand they curl up in fetal position when bullets start flying or something else deadly brakes out. My nightmares and depression never got to where I could handle it until I put it all in Christs hands I still deal with anxiety when I’m around large groups of people and going in somewhere not always checking for the best access and exits and attack plan in multiple scenarios but I think all alpha males think that way especially when they have their kids and wife with them. It’s just pure Godly instincts on protection of our own. But we need to plan and execute growing the Kingdom of Heaven because times about up for this worlds about to pass away. The Lord likes to give me parables and riddles. One recent one was of a record (vinyl), which has 2 sides, and classically the "hits" would be on the first side, the "A-Side". Then the B-side was the less visited side. But if somebody bought the album because they like the artist, they'd listen to both sides; if someone just bought the record to hear the same familiar songs over and over, they stick to the front side, the "A-side". I think that there is big difference between what is done willfully and what is done out of necessity. Like self defense, you have done everything that you can to avoid it but it happens because of someone else's choice not by yours. The difference is intent. Say you were alive in Nazi Germany and were hiding Jewish people in your house and the SS shows up asking if you know the whereabouts of any Jews. Of course you lie in that situation because the law of love is above the law of lying. Also sometimes judgement is necessary, like if you suspect someone is a child abuser, you most certainly are not going to entrust your children to their care. Again it is by love that your actions are sanctified. We live in a fallen imperfect world where things are not always black and white but we have grace for such situations where the law leaves no room and would burst.

I believe the original Hebrew used the same word for killing and murder. A more accurate English translation would be thou shalt not murder rather than simply kill. To kill in defense of oneself, family, and country is not a sin.
