Correction: The driver said Homowo is the celebration of independence from the Ga's slave masters. Not true. Homowo is the festival for "Hooting at hunger". There was a period in time when there was great famine among the Ga state and they grew corn in large quantities across the tribes which turned out to be the "life" to end the famine. So it's celebrated among the Ga tribes as their way of shaming hunger and appreciating corn as life

Lots of beautiful buildings but the back roads are an issue. I stayed at the same building. . To get to the main road on foot was an issue. The buildings are fine and of international standard, yes but the roads off the main roads are just left it seems. I couldn't really understand why that is.
