Hi Carlos e Laura I Live on PEI and have been to São Miguel, Madeiraand the mainland numerous times. We usually go there in the winter and of his quite a challenge to leave from this part of Canada. My easiest this year is bus to Halifax with an overnight stay and then fly to Toronto with a 6 hr layover. Once I board the plane to PDL, I feel like I'm going home. I am absolutely enamoured with Portugal. This year we are hoping to see a bit more than São Miguel and Pico is definitively up on my list. You and Laura are doing a great job promoting this gem of the Atlantic. Keep up the good work. Muito obrigado. Derek

Hi Carlos and Laura I love watching your videos they are very informative ,I'm planning to take a month off next summer to go visit the azores I was born in graciosa but was raised in sao miguel then came to Canada in 77 ,I would also love to visit other islands maybe the triangle islands I never heard of them being called that before, were always learning ,thank you for your videos, take care.

Carlos I'm just starting to watch videos I'm enjoying them very much. Where I'm from in the States there Is a big population of people people from the Azores mainly Saint Michael . My question to you is if you are a single traveler do you recommend going to Portugal.

Glad you are enjoying the videos, it means a lot. We do see singles throughout the islands, the most we see are couple, groups of friends and some families. These islands are for everyone, especially does that love nature, peace, scenic beauty and tranquility. If you are a single that needs close to a lot of activities, shopping, night life etc...than Sao Miguel would be the island for you. Just keep in mind that if you are based on one of the other islands, hopping around is very easy. I hope this helps. Take care! Cheers!

If by any chance you decide to visit central Europe, in the weeks ahead and although for the most part all the cities here in Europe are very beautiful make it a point to see both Prague and Budapest the latter are my recommendations. I don't know if SATA still does this but they used to have a scheduled flight once a week from Oakland California to Ponta Delgada, I think the airplane had to stop somewhere in Canada to refuel, maybe Toronto.

I find the flight s are expensive and as a citizen of Quebec close Ottawa we don’t seem to have much options as far as airlines only Sata. I would love to see more airlines leaving from Montreal going to Ponta Delgada. I finally booked my trip using my credit from 2020 but still had to dish out over. $200 for a connecting flight from ottawa to Pearson because they were (Sata) saying no flights are being booked from Montreal.

I can see them adding a flight from Montreal sometime in the future, after covid crisis; just my opinion. You have to keep in mind that Azores airlines pick airports based on where they think they will fill the planes. The flights out of Toronto are reasonable, I have seen higher. They make prices based on supply and demand. I also see a new airline flying to the Azores from Canada, at some point. Take care Maggie!
