How insecure and emotionally immature do you have to be to smack your kids? If an adult was annoying you, you wouldn’t smack them !

Have to agree with Shona here to a degree. I don’t like smacking, I hate it and hope to never use smacking myself. But sometimes words isn’t enough, especially when kids realise that words don’t give them any form of negativity. Even if grounding or taking away a console for instance might have an impact, it doesn’t really sink the message in sometimes. Don’t hurt them obviously, but the shock should be enough. Because then they know, if they did it again it might be harder the next time.

My son ran on to the road seven times. A car just missed him by few inches. I smacked him, on his bottom, it shocked him, to a point where he stopped, stood there, stared at me and got back on the pavement with ease. After that, he didnt try to run away as much.
