I glad you guys liked, Black Cat Nero is a rock cover that they did for a show and was very metal, you guys should try. They have pretty good songs, not metal but they are just really captivating.

Always here for the ATEEZ reactions. The English pronunciation is "ay-teez", like saying "80s" but with the 't' sound in the second syllable. The Korean spelling is 에이티즈 which sounds kind of like (roughly) "ay-ee-tee-juh" if done slowly (the ay-ee blends a lot when said quickly, and the "juh" is approximate). Our fandom name is ATINY (ay-tee-nee), formed from ATEEZ+destiny. We call the leader "Captain" because their overall concept is that they're pirates. KQ (their management) is VERY good about making sure we have English subs, because they know ATEEZ has a huge international following. ----- Many of us believe that "Halazia" = HALA + zia -- HALA for us means "Hearts Awakened, Live Alive" -- an earlier song is HALA HALA, which has that meaning as a subtitle -- zia is rooted in several languages, usually "splendor" or "light" I basically think of it as Halazia being the one(s) who bring the light that breaks hearts free from the darkness and allows them to feel "alive". This falls in line quite well with their lore, which is deep and rich and definitely more than you guys probably have time to get into (but worth it if you decide you want to, so let me know and I'll happily give you a link where you can read a bunch of "diary entries" from the albums, which is a big part of how they've informed us of what's going on). The brief version is that the setting is a dystopian world where the government has outlawed expression of human emotion (art, dance, music) and removed or hidden things which evoke it (like windows, mirrors, etc.), while also putting citizens on a regimen of "vitamins" that include an inhibitor (to reduce their ability to feel) and having them "chipped" with a bio-link that facilitates a kind of brainwashing. ATEEZ are essentially freedom fighters, and the song is written from the POV of someone who has been stuck in that reality and wants to be set free. Basically. That a simplistic run-down and not perfectly correct, but it's enough to give you an idea without throwing the entire storyline at you. ----- For some of ATEEZ's stuff, you guys might actually enjoy live performances better than the MVs or just audio tracks (heck, most of us prefer the live performances, what am I even saying "might" for here)... so if you end up doing a Patreon or anything where you can post that kind of thing, some reactions to concert footage, live stages, or even Kingdom: Legendary War stuff could really be great. I can definitely suggest which K:LW performances you guys might get the most enjoyment from when that time comes, and obviously if there are songs that stand out to you then those are some to look forward to for concert footage and whatnot. (The same probably goes for a lot of groups, ATEEZ is just the one I'm most familiar with.) I know Angie likes stuff that's more on the rock side of things. While I did make a few suggestions in a previous comment, I'm also keeping my ears peeled for when my Spotify shuffles stuff in that might be enjoyable for you both (and then trying to remember it if I can't make note of it right away, haha). Once I've got a decent number ready to suggest, I'll make sure to let you know. It won't likely be super-heavy or anything (just not what I generally listen to) but I'll try to kind of give a brief description of how it feels to me as well, so Angie can go into it with an idea of what to expect from it. 🥰

If you’re looking for something more rock centric, Day6 is a K band that is well respected by a lot of K-pop idols. Also the band Xdinary Heros is amazing; their songs and their covers are sooo good, the main vocalist gives me Freddy Mercury vibes!

I know diving into Ateez' storyline may not be something either of you will be interested in, but just in case I'm gonna mention this. Ateez has a very intense dark storyline that they tell through many different kinds of videos and through diary entries written into specific versions of the physical albums. It can be a little hard to figure out and piece together at times. I have a public playlist on my profile of all the official content, plus videos made by another youtuber that read out the diary entries from the physical albums, that depict or explain any of the storyline in order that it occurs. So if anyone ever wants to understand what is happening in the movie like music videos that Ateez have please check out all the content in that playlist. Thank you for checking out more Ateez (pronounced like eightease with a z). I am glad you both enjoyed Halazia. Almost all Ateez content will always have english substitles, because they are actually more popular all over the world then they are in Korea and they know that, and all Korean music from Stray kids will as well. Only the Japanese releases from Stray kids typically don't get substitles. Not going to bombard you with too many requests as I know you have lots to get to, but I do have a few. Last time I recommended some that Angie might like, today I do want to recommend a little David might like more too. Please check out Ateez Say my name, Answer and Inception.
