Please keep in mind that area of Queens you were in is a Caribbean hub and Veggie Castle is a Caribbean-American vegan restaurant. There are so many other tasty vegan food options within that restaurant and geographic area in general. Veganism is very American. In the Caribbean culture many of the foods that we make are plant based, and you can make it and eat it with or without meat. On another note, Caribbean people find sitting on the ground (especially outside and in public) unseemly, and that is probably why you getting strange looks.

Word. I think also referring to the area as a bad neighborhood was inaccurate. It's very residential, and then there's this one strip of shopping on Liberty Avenue. It's a very safe area, and culturally it's Trini and Guyanese, for the most part.

My dad said their use to be another veggie Castle in Brooklyn back in the day. Have y’all ever been to the vegan spot in Harlem on 125 st. It’s the spot they weighs your food it’s very good

It Says that their stuff is an all vegan so I figured you would ask about the Mac & cheese ( I’m sure you did off camera ). When I place says it’s vegetarian I would think that the stuff that contains cheese would be real cheese. I would’ve done it inside but then again I wasn’t there. Out of curiosity I looked up how far away it is from where I live in Queens ( by mass transit) and it says it will take me two hours and 12 minutes to get there. I did figured it would be somewhere near there.
