A KZbin viewer just sent me an email, asking me to review one of his recent 3v3 games, in which he faced an allegedly "unbeatable mass moonwealths strategy" What do you think? Is it IMBA? or does that strategy... just suck?

They literally played DOTA. Orcs were Like NPCs sending endless streams of kamikaze catapults, raiders, berserkers on three lanes and at the end just some wyverns for fun.

The plot twist at the end that the emailer was the 4000g banker, he was SOOO confident in that game and arguably was the least helpful on the team LOL. I'm so glad Grubby decided to show this, I love when people are so cocky and BM and the entire thing just crumbles before them. Good on team Frenchies!

There was this little played MOBA that came out in the late 00s in which players could pay money to upgrade their heroes OR pay money to upgrade the creeps their side was sending. Its network code basically killed it BUT one interesting mistake teams could make was pre-maturely buffing their own creeps to get the kill faster. Because when you buffed the creeps it also spawned more of them. If the other team can hang on they will start getting richer and higher levels much faster from the upgraded creeps they are chewing on. Interesting to see it play out in WC3.

I've done this strat a lot with friends in 4v4, and tbh it's very effective. the real counter to it is do not fight don't give xp, get 100/100 heavy air and push 4v1

Mass well as a + huntress owl spam as a support player would be dope. The vision and basically giving a heal fountain to the middle of the map would be good. Then have a Footie Paladin and Deathknight, spiders. The spiders would stop Air rushes, the Human would simply be able to go armor area and Protect the wells as the huntresses use the wells as a healing spot as they run out and harass. What ever the hell they tried makes no sense. You need troops to be healed by the wells. No troops means you're getting rushed

Just realized Grubby has that same kind of zen level no effort fantastic commentary as Harstem. Harstem has analogies and comparisons, and Grubby has straight faced really clever turns of phrase like 2 sheep crossing in the night and plenty of others. Maybe it's something in the water.

Step 1: build only demos to counter the most dangerous building in WC3's history - moon well Step 2: exclusively focus enemy heroes and make your own to get stuck in them. Step 3: Unwinnable. I imagine if at least one of them just went bats + wind riders they could've won this easily with just repeated harassment but that would be just too easy.

At the very start, purp/oj/yelllow did the right thing by focusing the night elf player down. But from there it was mistake after mistake and the NE player kept regrowing their moonwell clusters. Had they been killed off early, the games over. That's all they had to do. Instead they split attention to the other bases instead of ignoring them and just laser-focusing on the night elf. So no, this isn't 'unbeatable'. They allowed the NE player to rebuild and snowball from there. Didn't help you had each of the 3 on the opposing team making mistakes (OJ giving away free deva's, Yellow becoming a dragon and hoarding gold [raiders I liked tho], Purp not making/placing wards to counter Blademaster who kept picking stuff off). tl;dr they did good at the start then proceeded to snap defeat from the jaws of victory.
