UPSes don't just safeguard systems from power cuts-they can also protect the sensitive electronic components inside a pc from voltage fluctuations (browouts/overvoltage/power surges etc) which could be extremely dangerous,especially for people living in areas where such voltage anomalies are a frequent occurrence. And power strips or PSUs themselves are not always effective in preventing power fluctuation induced damage (they may themselves sustain damage during such events and in turn damage the components connected to them) - So the fact that UPS can protect equipments from damage is not a "MYTH" as you've described-far from it in fact,they are quite indispensable for a PC's safety,especially when someone lives in an area that's plagued by unstable power supply issues(saying from experience-not merely stating made-up facts). However the cheaper upses(sub 2k priced) don't always include AVR and cannot regulate voltage-they can only supply backup power in the event of blackouts.Hence while choosing a ups one should do one's homework and select the right one based on their needs.

Most of the inverters have ups button on side or back. Only turn it on when you have pc otherwise don't use it as the battery would get slowly charge when there would be electricity.

Great video but will point out something for others. 1. Bhai ne start me bola h unke yaha power cuts jyada nahi hoti vo delhi se h. Us case me surge protector is fine. 2. Mere personal experience me: me rehta hu jaha daily basis me at lesst 10-15 times 10-15min k liye power cut hote rehti h. Sometimes even 100 times hoti hai during the night. Is case me, surge protector is useless. You will have to buy a good quality UPS. Mere personally 1 pc me aag lagi thi and it died. Naya pc lena pada. Uske kuch mahine baad ek 18tb ki hard drive me aag lag gayi. Toh ye myth nahi hai. Actually components kharab hote hai. Bhai k yaha power jyada nahi kat rahi isliye unko itni dikkat nahi aa rahi. Jinke yaha daily power cut k issues hai, kripiya karke 5-6K UPS me invest zarur kare. Components safe rahenge. Meri jo hard drive jali thi us time me iBall ka UPS use karta tha firbhi aag lagi. Ab me fingers ka use kar raha hu 2 saal se, no issues abhi tak. UPS is a must to protect components.

You do realize you can build better surge protectors, using locally sourced components like modular MCB's etc. I have used pre built one. but they burnout once you put heavy load on them. Secondly self made(Hand made) Surge Protectors are repairable. btw inverters do have UPS mode on them. that allows them turn into PC UPS.

Brother Maine Exide inverter GQP 24V 1450VA , Pure Sine wave Inverter lagwaya hai. Powercut hone par koi apliances (T.V. , P.C. ) off nahi hota hai , asitis chalta rahta hai. No the only way it can happen is due to voltage issue. If light is going and coming without any voltage issue then nothing to worry about. But suppose light gone so turn off the pc so in case light comes back it wont cause issue although if you are using good psu nothing will happen as psu this days are pretty good quality

I have an APC 600VA and my specs are AB350 Gaming 3 Motherboard, Ryzen 5 5600GT, 32 GB Dual DDR4 RAM, RX 570 8 GB Graphics, Dell 22 Inxh Monitor. Power Supply is Corsair 650. My UPS gets overloaded and starts beeping even when there is main power while playing games, and as soon as I turn off the game it works fine. I thought that UPS only gets overloaded when its on battery mode, but even on mains its getting overloaded. Any idea why? Should I opt for a 1500VA UPS instead?

I have a technical question hope you might be able to answer that. I have synology NAS. I require one UPS with usb support so that during power failure it will signal the NAS to properly shutdown. I have selected few APC UPS models that works. But those come with a single usb to serial port cable, serial port goes to the ups and the usb to the NAS. My question is if I want to plugin to two different NAS devices is it possible to do so? Because there is only one cable. Os there any workaround?

@@praveensubba9104 I've both UPS and Inverter as well, though the socket in which my PC is plugged into doesn't have inverter connection, so buying a UPS was somewhat beneficial to me as I'm getting around 15-20 minutes of backup (this is not its peak I can get more if I want to but why taking unnecessary risk😂). And as you said you don't have a inverter in your home so getting a UPS would be a good idea (Aim for 1KVA UPS)

Last year in november high voltage (almost 2x-4x) se mera pc ekdam filmy style me fuk gaya tha but good part ye tha ki sirf SMPS fuka tha baki ke koi component kuchh bhi nahi huaa taha to mere point se still UPS is usless. Ha mene apne ghar me high voltege se bachaneke liye 900₹ ka circuit bracker lagaya hai ji high viltage pe electricity cut kar deta hai. Still vo 5000 ya 6000 ke ups se better hai & pure ghar ko protact karta hai.

Brother check the psu first... Kisi aur psu lga k check kro... Try to get your processor temp checked... One by one narrow down to your problem... If processor is heating up then re-apply the thermal paste and invest in some AIO cooler... May be your ambient temp is more which isnt controlled by the oem processor fan. May be it will get fixed with only reapplying of cpu paste... So just check out one by one... If you have a graphics card try and remove it as well. Or lan card is there separately to remove it and try working on pc... Locate the problem yourself ... It needs patience and its nothing you cant do l. Cheers!

Bro if ur inverter has ups mode then connect ur PC directly to inverter with ups mode on. So ur PC doesn't restart when there is a power cut. Also if ur using 1000w psu then get some extra batteries n connect it to inverter based on power consumption.

I have a 1500VA livguard Pure Sinewave inverter LGS1600. I am using it as a UPS mode home inverter, which is also connected to my PC. But Ek problem hai jab bhi bijli jaati hai aur mai PC mai game khel rha hotah hui tou RESTART tou duur ki baat hai poore Ghar ki bijli hi band kar deta hai. aur overload show karne lagta hai. Company ko bhaut bolla iss issue ke baare mai unhone new inverter lagake bhi check Kiya but sabb mai yehi dikkat thi. Tou baatao......abb aap kya kehna chahoge iss baare mai Ye dikkat tabhi aati hai jab pc mai heavy load hota hai like Gaming karte time. Varna agar light use horha hai tou easily inverter mai chal jaat a hai.

Bina UPS ke PC mai soch vhi nehi sakta. 7 computer I have and out of them one having value 2.75 lac. Ghar me SPD, Voltage protector, RCCB, MCB, voltage stabilizer and every PC I own have UPS. Koi bhi risk nehi uthana hai bhai. 10 year ago mera motherboard lightening ke baja se ekbar ur chuka hai. Abhi agar supply line pe eisa wasa kuch hoga to damage lakho me hoga bhai. Kyu yeh suggestion? every single person even he have a shine wave inverter must use a separate ups for PC. Abhi log to itna samajta nehi ki delay time of inverter ka kitna mili second ka hai. Agar 5 mili second se kam hai phir thik hai. Barna PC bandh hona pakka hai. Or inverter me agar ek hi battery hai jo ki jada tar ghar me hota hai, and you have a monster pc that consume 700 Watt on heavy task like gaming or rendering, phir to inverter bacha nehi sakta PC shutdown hone se. You should have two battery powered more than 1000VA ups. So halua nehi hai sab kuch. Bahot kuch consider karna parega.
