Is it NOW or NEVER to buy a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock?

The Super Stock looks to be an end of an era from Dodge and MOPAR. Under the hood is a 6.2L supercharged Hemi that is producing 807HP on pump gas and is mated to an 8-speed automatic. On the exterior you get the 18in forged wheels with Nitto Drag radials from the mighty Demon, red Brembo calipers and special SRT trunk lid spoiler. On the inside you will find leather & Alcantara seating, 8.4in infotainment system, and plenty of room. Is it NOW or NEVER to buy a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock?

Yes Joe. I retired in December 2002 from the CA Highway Patrol. 22 years of "on throttle" whenever and wherever I wanted. The 1991 Camaro RS/SS black and white was the best patrol car I had ever put through its paces. Now, thanks to you and Lori, I have made my decision. I am ordering a 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Wide Body in Go Mango with Shaker option and premium black leather interior. Sunroof, why not. I will be 69 on November 23rd. I retired from CHP 20 years ago. I think I deserve a brand new Scat Pack Shaker 6 speed manual. All because of you and Lori's excellent review. Thanks man.

Now we know that Demonology - the fastest street legal Challenger in the world, is a modified Demon that would take this stock Super Stock to Gapplebee's for dinner, has a splitter guard on it. Did it stop him from running 8 second 1/4 miles? Could it be possible that TOMORROW when he races Donkmaster that he'll be in the 7's? We'll see. That said, we know they make modified splitters which extend the splitter out creating more down force. You'll have to explain using science and evidence, not emotions and hysteria, that a splitter guard - which extends the splitter by a centimeter or near that, won't IMPROVE down force. PROVE IT. I'm not saying it will or won't - I actually believe it doesn't make one flip of a difference. But YOU SAID it "actually disrupts airflow" without stating how or why. Go ahead, prove it. In the meantime, I love how Demonology keeps his on if for no other reason but to cause emotionally hysterical schoolgirls cry over it. LOL!"

I really do agree with what you said about the exhaust tips. The square tips do fit the challenger/charger very well but it woulda been cool to see them try somethings else, maybe a quad tip like you said with open rolled edges

Such a beautiful vehicle man, but they did fail on the exhaust tips I'm sorry I'm such a stickler for exhaust tips. The gt500 has sexy quad tips. The challenger tips look like that vacuum head adapter.

Excellent presentation and pleasing video.👍 I enjoyed it as I have always been into 'muscle' since I received my license 50 years ago. No matter how impressive and cool these Super Stock are, they really don't make sense for street use or even ownership unless you have a large garage or plan on going to the drag strip or local cruise-ins. Never mind the very high cost to actually purchase one. I certainly appreciate the premise of these monsters but for the average guy, and most everyone here on YT, would you actually use it? Enough to warrant laying out that kind of money? If someone offered me one for $40k I would pass on this imaginary deal except to re-sell and make some $$$. I know two Hellcat owners locally that have never used the 2nd 'key' and their cars only attend shows and cruise-ins. Hey, that's perfectly fine, people have car collections just like folks collect coins and stamps. Fun to look at but not actually used. I am so glad I own a well equipped '20 R/T Shaker. It can be used daily and really has it all, with comparable performance to the 426 or 440 engines of the first '70 Challengers.

Honestly I would just save your money and buy the refresh in 2024 the R/T might be faster then. You might be even able to but it outright if you save from now until then and don’t listen to what everybody says I believe that only the top model charger/challenger will be electric the scat pack and below will still be gas powered. If anything they will either make a brand new smaller V8 for the scat/RT or make a big V6 or a supercharged V6. I mean a ripp supercharged V6 can make 500+ to the wheel so I think the boys over at SRT can make a monster V6 that sounds great and has great fuel economy. And before the V8 boys crucify me in the comments just remember some of the fastest cars in the world have a V6 also I believe a GTR Nissan in Texas that has something of 2000+ horsepower is unbeaten so yea you can do a whole lot with a 6 but who knows like I said they might make a smaller v8.
