No human has the right to say "you do as i want becausei say it". This is similar to shirk. Only Allah can expect humans to do something just because he says it. The only person you directly obey is god. No human has such a right. When you obey a person, you obey a duty, an obligation, but never a person himself. That means it has to be justified, reasonable and serve a good purpose. Likewise, there is no such sin as "you didn't do what your husband said ". What is a sin is, that your disobedience caused harm because you didn't obey where it was necessary. And if a woman sees that it will be harmful to herself, her family, other people or islam, she mustn't obey. Every person is responsible for his or her own deeds. The husband is not a little god.

@@truthseeker3293 in traditional orthodox understanding, as soon as a husband demands something, it becomes like a commandment for the woman. If she doesn't do it, it's a sin. I argue that the only person who can give commandments is god. Humans don't have such a right. I accept that usually a husband is the maintainer, the protector and caretaker. But he can only expect obedience for things that are directly connected with these duties, because if the wife is not willing to keep the family together, he won't be able to do it on his own. So this doesn't mean he can demand anything arbitrarily. Like "don't leave the house" just because he is jealous or whatever psychological problem he has. Just to display his power. You obey a duty, not a human. Several times in quran it says, obey the prophet. Not once does it say, obey mohammed. He was a human. We obey his function as a prophet.

@@truthseeker3293 and one more thing. Repeatedly in quran it says that men AND women who do good will be rewarded and the bad ones of both genders will be punished. If you are a person who only does as she is told, like a robot without feelings and a conscience, how can she be held accountably? Only active people with decision making and a free conscience can be held accountable
